There's good things about this game. Mainly the visual aspect, of course, and the bite-sized, concise puzzles. But there's two glaring issues that just really made me have to quit merely two chambers before the end, and that is how difficult and inconsistent maintaining the momentum is, especially for how often the game demands you to do so. Time and again you'll collide with something while hopping from one portal to another, completely taking away your momentum and ruining your setup. Additionally, the game constantly adds unnecessary items to the chambers - panels that serve no purpose, buttons that end up being completely useless, and it hinders the puzzle-solving process, as you stop thinking "What could this panel be used for?" and starts being "Should I even bother considering this as part of the solution?" In my opinion, chamber-based puzzles work best when every element in the room serves a purpose, and it all adds up nicely to a solution. Imagine an escape room where you keep finding keys that don't open anything. It's a fine game. Short, really nice to look at, but with some gameplay issues that made it immensely frustrating to complete. I know this is a one-person team, and it's really impressive what they've done, so maybe pick this up once the physics have been patched, and/or during a sale.
First off, I wish there was a mixed option instead of a thumbs up or down, because I'm on the fence with this one. DESORDRE: A Puzzle Game Adventure. A puzzle game? Indubitably. An adventure? Not so sure. So what is it? DESORDRE is a puzzle game where you navigate different rooms with your portal gun. Much like the Portal games you place portals, in this case on checkered surfaces, to solve puzzles and progress to the next room. However, in DESORDRE, you also get to manipulate time by slowing it down and switching between worlds. These mechanics are great, especially the ability to swap between worlds. It definitely makes the experience more interesting and unique. Let's start with the obvious: yes, the game looks beautiful, it's so visually stunning that I wish there was more to look at other than (mostly) red, blue and white surfaces. Even so, it's impressive. The game also ran smoothly without any performance issues. I played on high settings. The only downside was that the loading screens were occasionally quite long. The audio was good; however, I felt like the portal gun was noticeably louder than the other sounds. It didn't bother me much, whether I played with headphones or speakers, but it was something I noticed. Now let's get to the main part: the gameplay. About halfway through the game, I considered giving up, not because it got difficult, but because it started to feel boring. The setting is decent, and I'm not against the story about going through some kind of therapy test. However, it felt a bit dry and empty. More interaction with the woman's voice guiding you through the game would have been nice. Even if it defeats the purpose or theme of the game, an environmental change could've been cool to see as well. Especially given how good this game looks. The game is short, it took me two hours to beat it and I found it pretty simple. What confused me the most were some checkered surfaces that I didn't end up using. I wondered if those were there to throw you off or if they were required to beat the puzzle, apparently not the latter. Still, I think it might offer a little bit of a challenge for some players. Personally for this type of game I would give it a 5/10. I don't have much to say about this game because there isn't much to it. If you are interested, I'd recommend getting it on sale, considering the simplicity and length of the game. But I do want to give props for it being solo-developed!
Decent portal clone, was a bit too short for my liking. Levels were interesting enough, the last 2 were not very fun. If it weren't for the visuals I would have completely ignored this game, it does have nice visuals tho. 6/10
Portal RTX but you, universe, glados and even the portal gun suffer from terminal cubism Pretty Dear Dev, if you ever read this, HDR goes above 2000 nits nowadays! Please add at least 2500 nits. Thank you.
got it for like 3 dollars, not very enjoyable at all, the puzzles are not hard but they are confusing, the main reason its takes as long as it does is because its hard to notice things, the game starts with some absalutely immature toilet humour , and doesn't improve much from there, there also several bugs, sometimes you randomly get tremendous amounts of momentum an the whole air control system is very jank, also you seem to warp to the other portal from pretty high above it so thats pretty counter intuitive. the enviroments are very samey and seem kinda low effort. the graphics are impressive at first but there are very grainy at vertouly all settings, very imprisive performance for full path tracing, which is great though. on that note though the devolepors claim that only 40 series and up nvidia cards can pllay with pathtracing on because of frame generation is very naieve, not only do some modern amd gpus have frame gen but frame generation is not an acceptable crutch for all games and or gamers, and limiting them, even by making turning on path tracing on non 40 series cards require an "override" is just unnecessary. overall would not recommend. the main reason i went for a negative review however is just frankly that i think tthe devoloper is flat out stealing ideas from portal, there are light bridges, portal 2s laser thingys as well as the cubes that refract them, it is essentually a portal 2 reskin with different maps: unacceptable.
But my gift...? lol
Fun, short and nice graphics 3.5/5
Bardzo dobra i pomysłowa gra. Na początku prosta, za to później czasami trzeba trochę więcej pomyśleć jak przejść dalej. Polecam ją dla osób lubiących spokojne łamigłówki.
Playing so far, on puzzle 9 I will say the puzzle design is great, with having to learn both realities to understand how to solve the puzzle. The real issue is the portal gun in the game and the velocity puzzles where you need to fling yourself. It does feel clunky trying to place a portal where you will land and I do feel like I have to heavily rely on the time slow to do the velocity puzzles. Also the reset is nice, tho I wish some of the puzzles where you can soft lock yourself did not. Over all good game, it is just the controles that need help
pretty straight forward puzzle game, could have been a portal mod but kudos to the dev for making his own tools. some puzzle got me scratching my head but overall portal players won't be lost here count 2 to 6 hours depending on your level.
