The Electric Shocktopus has a trick up one of his eight sleeves: he can change his electric charge at will. Zoom across electric fields, twist through magnets, and use conductors to bend the world to your will. Never has the Right Hand Rule involved so many tentacles!

It's so hard to find a game that is able to educate without being a bit dull or dry. But The Electric Shocktopus is a fun 2d platformer that has you play as an electrically charged octopus jumping around levels collecting stars and trying not to die on various obstacles. You must use positive and negative charged blocks to boost you around, swoop through magnetic fields, collect the stars and get to the exit. It manages to slip in some science education without you even noticing. Just the sort of thing I've been looking for. It has the potential to get really really hard. But so far I've been enjoying this game a great deal. Very much recommended. :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LFU4QXPVqw
This game changes physics of electric and magnetic fields into a game. Don't be fooled by it's cartoon graphics - it gets very challenging quickly. If you are a science geek, it's a must-have! Even if you aren't, but enjoy old-school *difficult* platform games, you won't be disappointed.
Looks like a childish game with it's friendly and vibrant graphics, but it's messed up, it's so bloody difficult it will make you gut yourself alive and throw your intestines out to feed your dog, all that said, it's quite fun.

This game is a must-have for everyone who likes platformer games involving magnetism. What makes this game stand out among other similar titles is, that both electric fields and magnetic fields are present. The Shocktopus is charged positively, so it is repelled by positive electric field, whereas magnetic fields spin the Shocktopus.
very fun, yet also informative!
This is one of my favorite games that I have played recently. It has really good replay value and is fun to collect all the stars. Even when those things start to bore me, the intuitive level editor holds me over with some amazing user made levels as well as trying to make my own. I currently hold the world record speedrun of this game (sorry to brag) and hope others would try as well. All in all, a solid 5 star game for me.
Excellent game. Would recommend if you like science or TestTubeGames.
Found this game at my local observatory, and it just clicked with me. One of the actual FUN educational games! This game feels less like an educational game and more like a simplistic indie game! The editor is great, and has pretty much every feature from the main levels! It's also very simple to learn! The very small community for this game is respectable and awesome! Definitely deserves more praise than it currently gets.
