One of The Best Open World
Before Skyrim, humanity wandered the earth without purpose. Crops failed. Empires fell. My skin was dry. Then Todd Howard looked directly into the camera and whispered, "It just works", and civilization entered its golden age. Scientists won't admit this, but Skyrim is responsible for curing world hunger, lowering inflation, inventing mavity, bringing back the dinosaurs (briefly), ending several wars that definitely happened, teaching wolves to respect personal space, and my parents getting back together. Need proof? Have you ever seen the Northern Lights? That's just Skyrim's skybox leaking into real life. The combat is revolutionary. Sure, I accidentally become a stealth archer every single playthrough despite swearing I won't, but that's not poor game balance. That's destiny. Free will is an illusion, and Bethesda had the courage to tell us. The NPCs are incredible. They'll watch a dragon vaporize half the town and still stop to ask me if I get to the Cloud District very often. That's commitment to customer service. The soundtrack doesn't just play in the background. It reaches into your soul, signs a lease, and starts paying rent. I've purchased Skyrim so many times that I'm pretty sure I own a small percentage of Bethesda. Pc. Xbox. Playstation. Special Edition. Anniversary Edition. Toaster Edition. Samsung Smart Fridge with Extra Frost Edition. If Todd Howard released Skyrim on a microwave tomorrow, I'd be reheating pizza while fighting Alduin by dinner. People complain about the bugs, but they're missing the point. Giants launching you into low Earth orbit wasn't a glitch- it was Bethesda pioneering commercial space travel years before everyone else caught up. Would I recommend Skyrim? Absolutely. Not because it's one of the one of the greatest RPGs ever made, but because I genuinely believe the global economy is held together by people buying Skyrim every view years. If sales ever stop, the moon will probably fall into the ocean. 10/10. Saved gaming. Saved humanity. Probably invented oxygen.
