The Eerie Inn

I feel like I just guest starred in a B-Movie!! This mystery horror had more cheese than McDonalds but, just like that fast-food moneypit, The Eerie Inn takes you by the hand and throws a whole lot of craziness at you so instead of getting a healthy snack you end up overindulging in a whole lot of bad stuff but you can't help but love it!! The plot is voice-acted with Nintendo-64 style graphics and a few hair-raising jumpscares thrown in the mix for giggles ohh and the sound effects & music helped the atmosphere along too. The controls are your typical UNITY keys : WASD, ESC for menu and left mouse for interactions, there's a Save option available anytime throughout the game but no options for settings. It features 4 achievements that are easily unlocked as the story progresses and it shouldn't take more than an hour or so to complete so ignore my playtime I got carried away chatting! Would I recommend this? Hmmm...well if you're out for a bit of fun in a short time and aren't looking for the next Resident Evil quality wise then you will probably get a cheap thrill from this but if you are a hardcore Horror fan who takes their gaming seriously then give this a miss. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Liked what you see? The Eerie Inn is a short thriller walking simulator that takes place inside an...Eerie Inn! The gameplay involves watching cutscenes, finding keys, and solving a few minor puzzles. The whole experience feels like a tiny "B Movie". The whole game takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. + The game is polished and runs well. + There is real voice acting and it is surprisingly very well done. + The graphics and atmosphere are nice and simple, yet it just works nicely for some reason. + The story is interesting, and the ending is an awesome twist I didn't see coming. - Your character walks very slow, there is no run button. - The whole game is a bit simple and casual, not for people looking for a huge challenge, huge scares, lots of gore, horror etc... Quite fun and relaxing. It's a small casual game. Try to get it on sale for a buck ot two. Overall: 7/10

This is a bite sized adventure horror game. It can be played with just a mouse or a mouse and WASD. The positives: I had a good time playing it I guess. The supporting character will grate on your nerves. She is very whiny and demanding. But all in all it was a half decent, though slightly lean, story with half decent graphics. It wasn't too difficult either, with easy story related achievments. So I chalked up a perfect game with it. Unfortunately, it is a very short game with no replayability. It has an inventory but you cannot see it, so you have to remember what you pick up and there are plenty of red herrings to pick up. You cannot skip cutscenes. I had a bit of difficulty where I got stuck in a corner behind some sacks of stuff and a cardboard box and had to restart. Even the autosave put me back in the corner with no chance for advancement. So save often! Final opinion, buy on sale! It is a once around hour long game.. if that. I got it on sale and wouldn't recommend paying more than 2-3 bucks for it due to the short length and lack of replayability. Heck, even if you have an old brain like mine, you're not likely to forget it. Especially once you start to replay. Honestly, I can pick up some games after a year and not remember even playing them! So, it's a throwaway. But good enough that I would recommend it on sale. I certainly cannot see where some of the reviews are coming from in comparing it to Outlast, etc. I believe they had to be joking.

a very good adventure/horror game. I recommend it. a couple of good jumpscares. has a couple of exciting moments. the price of this game is alright.

Can't recommend this game the movement is clunky the graphics are awful and the story is predictable,not much else to say really am glad I didn't pay full price.

Very easy "perfect game". Not too hard, had a few decent jump scares. Not the best graphics, story has potential. Just really small and simple

I've just finished playing this, beat the whole game in an hour. What can I say about "The Eerie Inn"... well it was competent in some parts and laughably bad in other parts. This is a narrative-driven horror walking simulator. You find the key and unlock the door, find the code and unlock the safe and unravel the mystery of "The Eerie Inn". There is voice acting, it sounds like an episode of South Park. It's hilarious and I honestly enjoyed it, it was sub par but it was better than reading notes or on screen text the whole time. The atmosphere does get a bit creepy and there are some well placed spooks and jump scares but nothing impressive or unique really. There is an okay twist and some decent writing but the main characters make some incredibly poor choices, I mean there really stupid. Also where are these people backpacking? Across a desert? Why wouldn't you pack a tent or something? I don't know just seems silly to me. THE CONTROLS are freakin' bizarre. You can't move forward while looking down, if you can see your character's body then you can't move in any direction. It's because they didn't want to design walking animation, almost 100% sure of that. Also you can't sprint and that's annoying, I'm sorry but when you can't sprint in a horror game you lose points from me. I don't want to slowly walk around looking for stuff and back tracking... it's not fun. The lighting in this game is bad. My character had black hair at the start and then had dirty blonde hair all of a sudden. My character's friend had shadowy black legs while laying in bed. My character had no head while in first person, just a white circle above her neck. I'd say it's a bad design choice but whatever it didn't really effect anything. Final thoughts! "The Eerie Inn" has a cheesy B-movie charm to it and I kind of liked it for that. There were cut scenes , voice acting and a story, which is more than your average indie horror game. That said wouldn't recommend this game and if I was going to recommend it, wait for a sale because $5 is not worth it. The controls are not ideal and the story is not anywhere good enough to sell it on that. Which is all it really is other than key collecting and very minor puzzle solving. *SPOILERS* Thomas Kinsey is an African American man.

Below average game. I picked it up for 2€ in a sale and even that is way too high, maybe 0,5€ would be an ok price.
