Mick Carter's been drifting a while now- moving from job to job, never staying one place long. Jumping a box-car to his old home town, he witnesses a violent murder, is pursued by hi-tech soldiers, thrown in a reservoir and drowned.
And that's just the start of Mick's problems.
His consciousness ripped away, thrust back into his own body seconds before his death...

The Drifter is our take on a classic 2d point and click adventure, with the brake-lines cut. The focus is on fast-paced storytelling, with puzzle-solving being the glue that ties it together. Mick's a practical guy, and so puzzles are down-to-earth too, designed to be unobtrusive, and give an investigative feel.
We're keeping the pacing quick and lean, you'll never be wandering around lost or confused- Mick is propelled through the story at a good clip, from one situation to another, with barely a moment to catch his breath. One minute you'll be crafting a Molotov cocktail from a bottle of over-proof rum, the next interrogating a crooked neurosurgeon before swinging from a high-rise window by a fraying extension lead.

One hell of a game! The Good: - Outstanding, voice-acted noir thriller plot - Puzzles actually make sense (no obscure puzzle logic!) - Gritty pixel art & incredible synth soundtrack - Mick Carter is a brilliantly written protagonist The Bad: It eventually ends, and now I have to go back to real life. Buy it, grab some coffee, and play it in one or two sittings.
Ouaow ca faisait longtemps que je n'avais pas kiffé autant un point and click, des passionnés du genre qui ont du faire ce jeu, histoire prenante gameplay pour ce genre assez inédit et en même, bcp de nostagie de ces jeux des années 90. Je recommande à 100%. C'est quand le prochain jeu ?

As point and click games go, this one slaps. The puzzles aren't overly compilcated but do make you think, and the world and atmosphere are dynamite. Excellent premise that delivers clever gameplay loops. Very original and charming. It's hard to fault or find bad things to say about it. It's a pure pleasure to have played. In the genre of point and click, 8.5 out of 10.

perfect pixel-art and sound design. narrative could sometimes be over dramatic, but it matches the plot intensive development. in general it is really interesting, unique and unpredictable in a way. highly recommended. 11/10
I wishlisted The Drifter long before release and had been waiting to play it for a long time. Now I'm on chapter 4, and despite the well-written dialogue, interesting story, and strong artistic concept, I'm getting tired of it. The puzzles are fragmented into so many tiny pieces scattered across the map that progress feels painfully slow. I love exploring the creepy, aesthetically wonderful world, but the experience falls flat without dialogue, and the dialogue is puzzle-walled, so that fluidity keeps getting interrupted. I'd love to play a second game from these devs; their creativity is something I really appreciate here, I'd just want a smoother pace next time. Still one of the best pixel point-and-click games I've played in a long time, and I strongly recommend it for anyone who are willing to explore the twisted world behind the game.
