Every ending is a tragedy, no matter how hard you try. Just inevitable tragedy...
A beautiful and deeply emotional prequel to The Divine Speaker. If you played and enjoyed the original, you cannot skip this. I've never played a BL series that is quite as touching and heart-wrenching as this before. Trust me, this and the original are both worth your time if you're interested in these kinds of games. I NEED more Divine Speaker content ASAP.
I would become yandere for my dogboy too.
This game as a prequel is very important for the building blocks of the main game: The Divine Speaker. As others may have said, I think it is best played after the first game as well. The story is placed before the events of the main game and is the most heart-wrenching thing I've ever had the pleasure and displeasure of reading through. I mean this as a good thing though, it clearly shows me just how well thought-out the story is for this universe overall. I do rate this positively, but the lingering sense of my disappointment and devastation is inescapable. I won't spoil too much here, however, you will always feel that IF things had gone differently in the past, we would not have reached the next game and the future to come. I feel awful and sympathetic to the woes that our characters have gone through, but at the same time cannot forgive the actions that had been taken. In hindsight of the original game, I'm glad that the new lineage was able to control the spiral that came out of this story. I really cannot describe the feeling you get after playing the entirety of this, especially after you have made it through the end of The Divine Speaker. I'm happy and grateful that we ended up where we were, no matter how hard the journey was. Yet, I remain feeling so empty and sad, as if a chasm just opened underneath my feet. I love this universe and its characters so much, thank you to everyone who worked on this, especially the writers....You've broken my heart completely. I can't forgive how inexplicably torn you've made me and I honestly want to downvote this game if I could (out of pure sadness), but this is a story of the past and we cannot change what happened. I don't know if I'd call this a life lesson, but it feels right to me. Anyways, sorry! I'm just so heartbroken right now.
i think this part is much better than the first game. it's a prequel, so if you're planning to read "the divine speaker" i recommend doing so first to avoid spoilers. i find the world-building and the story itself to be really well presented,i was even moved a few times. ameyl, my pookie, you didn't deserve all this!!! and ♥♥♥♥ caspian.
Ready for the amount of heartbreak? Yeah, I thought I was too, but it's actually way worse. Again very well written! The story won't let you go. Bc no, it's not only a sad love story, in fact it is an explanation to so many things - and makes us have even more in the process. The next one really can't come soon enough! (And that's me, being late to the party...) While The Divine Speaker is a Visual Novel with Choices, The Sun and the Moon is a Kinetic Novel, taking us down one way. I used to think I didn't like KN, but yeah... they can just as easy take ahold of you and not let go. Not as many CGs, but... nice enough eye candy :3 Just one thing! Why? Am I allowed to be mad at a certain god? Bc honestly, I am! Aaaaaaaah!
Well, yup, I'm in tears. How something you sort of 'knew' what was going to happen can still making you feel so much. This is a prequel done RIGHT. Though please, play the Divine Speaker main game first, this will spoil a LOT. I truly love this series.
curious to know what happens when two gays dont get their happy ending? they make it everyone else's problem!!! lets go gays!! (crying as i type this review)
The amount of history this holds for the original Divine Speaker game was brilliant. Dots were connected that I would've never seen before. That being said, this game pulled more emotion out of me than I was ever prepared for. If anyone touches Veras, I will gladly become Lucius 2.0.
Almost cried at the end.
