About
CAN YOU SURVIVE THE DEVIL'S GAME?
In The Devil is in the Details, is an Anomaly detection -meets- Escape Room - meets Survival Horror hybrid, played from a first-person perspective. You find yourself trapped in a hellish mansion. Each step forward is a gamble in this ever-changing nightmare, where no two playthroughs are alike. Explore and investigate your surroundings and try to beat the devil at his own game, by placing talismans on cursed objects, while trying to survive with limited resources against the many deadly traps and foes that lurk in the shadows, as well as having to deal with the pranks demons and the devil throw at you.
Key Features:
4 distinct campaigns: Each one of the 4 trials features a large, sprawling and distinct mansion, each with unique trials to conquer, offering many hours of gameplay.
The Prank System™: Introduces randomized pranks, ensuring a fresh, unpredictable experience and keeping players on their toes. There's a lot of variety in these, ranging from sliding on the floor, reversed controls, and other unexpected modifiers that will provide a fun challenge for players.
Side quests: Each trial has 30 mini-arbiters hiding throughout the mansions waiting to be collected, as well as a secret side quest that will be hard to crack. These provide countless more hours of gameplay for completionists.
Randomized Cursed Objects: Every venture into the game offers a unique challenge, ensuring a fresh experience with each playthrough.
Time is your most precious resource: Time is your health. Explore the different mansions while keeping an eye on the time, and beware of enemies that will try to consume it. Use potions to increase time, just keep in mind they come in limited quantities.
Summon your inner Detective: Sharpen your observation skills as you observe and recall changes in your environment to progress.
Talisman Placement: Use mystical talismans to cleanse objects twisted by demonic influence.
Demonic Traps: Navigate, outwit, and disarm devilish traps that lurk around every corner.
Eerie Atmosphere: Immerse yourself in a chilling game against the forces of darkness, set against a backdrop of haunting visuals and sounds.
Survival: The demons will do whatever it takes to prevent you from finalizing the rituals, from physically assaulting you to engaging in mind games. You must use your wits and utilize your environment to trap or destroy the demons.
Limited Resources and Route Planning: Create the best plan of attack to avoid foes(or lead them to traps) while managing the limited environmental resources at your disposal as well as your time.
Customize your Experience: Completely customize the game to your needs and liking. If the game is too difficult, intense, or you just want to focus on doing side quests without the nerve-wrecking intensity of the default experience, you can individually turn off enemies, traps, jump scares or ghosts, thus providing everyone with lots of modifiers to really give you an unique experience fitted to your needs.
The Devil is in the Details offers a gripping blend of psychological horror and puzzle-solving, wrapped in a veil of mystery. Are you ready to challenge the devil in his own game?

hella hard but good
This was honestly a wonderful surprise! If you enjoy progressively challenging memory games, horror games, or even a combination of the both, this will be right up your alley! to put it in more simple terms "It's the dark souls of memory games". I thoroughly enjoyed the "hell" out of this game and I strongly recommend you hop into a game.. or two.
I found this game through Insym’s playthrough and instantly wanted to buy it. I’m honestly surprised it’s not more well-known because it’s really good. The atmosphere is creepy and the gameplay surprisingly fresh and addicting for an anomaly hunting game. Lots of crazy **** happened while playing the game that broke the 4th wall in the most hilarious way possible. And the Arbiter is such a character, it's super fun. You can tell the devs put a ton of passion into it, and I’m all for supporting indie teams doing cool, unique stuff like this.
An amazing anomaly hunter wherein you have to search for changes in ever-growing hallways and rooms, all while getting sassed constantly by the one giving you the trial, trolled by the devs with crazy and hilarious distractions, finding collectibles and secrets, learning Important World Lore (POODLES) and stepping in bear traps. Sometimes the amount of enemies are a little overwhelming in later trials, but you can adjust everything about the trials to have a better time if certain things are not your style (like turning off enemies/ghosts/traps/jump scares, etc. I highly suggest not turning off too much, though. Most of them are great. haha) Really pleasantly surprised and appreciative of this game and its amazing sense of humor and way of teasing and playing with your expectations. As you work your way up to harder trials, it feels like such an accomplishment to figure your way through to each new checkpoint. I'm a spineless coward but I still keep going back for more. lol
Really good combo of horror and puzzles with the enemies and random events making every loop still feel fresh and interesting :)
This game is an absolute blast! It takes the simple "spot the difference/observation duty" style game and turns it up to 11 with tons of jump scares, enemies, and secrets. Not to mention, it offers more immersion by allowing you to explore the level rather than observing a camera screen. It also offers a variety of difficulties that host their own environments and mechanics; however, the main constant through each level is your guide, The Arbiter, who can offer some sage advice, witty banter, or straight deception - all with incredible vocals. I've been having fun playing the game normally, as well as, using some of the additional features (clock stopped, no traps, etc.) to hunt for clues for side-quests and collectibles. With tons of randomization, HideWorks has done a fantastic job of creating a game that's fun to come back to, again and again. This is a great game for streamers and regular gamers alike, that is also fairly affordable. I whole-heartedly recommend folks to buy this game and see what all the excitement is about.
A fresh game... buy it!
Really well done anomaly-type game. Story-driven with great voice acting and a nice sense of humor. It gets really overwhelming in the later levels, but you can tailor your experience with accessibility and difficulty options. Would recommend! Also the dev is pretty chill ;).
Looking for a Horror Game that Challenge you with Time / Monsters and Your Own Memory- look no further this is the Game for you. If you like things like Exit 8 - this Game tells you the Item you have to look out for, but it changes every level. Would buy Again
The levels have a really fun premise for a horror game; Escalating tension and difficulty as the location gets bigger per level and random horror effects happen every 30-60 sec. I love memory puzzles and horror games. Nice job.
