About
Note: You don’t need to have played the first chapter to enjoy this one.
At 15 years old, I released my first survival horror game on Steam, The Designer's Curse, a game inspired by influential old-school horror titles such as Amnesia and Penumbra. Now, after finally finishing uni, I'm excited to bring you Chapter Two, Forgotten Horrors—an engaging survival horror experience. Explore Shaw Well Manor once more, uncovering its dark secrets and immersing yourself in it's tenebrous atmosphere.
Featuring incredible original music by Mikko Tarmia, known for his work on Amnesia and SOMA, the game delivers a hauntingly beautiful experience. With advanced physics-based gameplay (inspired by the works of Frictional Games) and terrifying creatures roaming the manor, you'll navigate its eerie halls as Albert, uncovering a story shrouded in mystery.
With satisfying, immersive physics inspired by the works of Frictional Games, the game's world is just at your fingertips.
I made this game pretty much on my own, coding away in my university dorm—though I had some help from a few talented friends. After all that work, I’m so proud to say it’s finally finished.
As you explore, you can physically jot down your own notes in the inventory to keep track of vital clues. A built-in notebook also logs solved puzzles, ensuring you never lose progress.

What a fantastic game! From start to finish I found myself fully immersed in the game because of the atmosphere and the ambience. The design of the new monster is one of the best I have ever seen in an indie horror game. It is done to the point of perfection! I also think that this Chapter shows a massive improvement since the first Chapter released 6 years ago, and I would say it was worth the wait! 10/10 - You have done it again Christian!

Great atmosphere/music, unique puzzles and the cool scares. It's pretty short for the price but I still enjoyed it despite of that.
the final chase is trash, took a bunch of tries til I got the esports ready mouse circling to get through.
Been watching CB-Games for a long time, and i was NOT LET DOWN. chapter 2 refines alot with the physics (feels almost static unfortunately) The new monster and music piece are f**king beautiful. The fact we are finally introduced into more lore that expands on the current situation was done well (the excessive swearing was needed.) Overall 8/10, great addition to the designers curse line up but lacks in some parts. parts being: Sneaking doesn't do much you can run behind the monster if you die in one part the monster never comes back so its a free item (bug probably)
I didn't actually finish the game yet, but so far I really like it. The Amnesia-style interaction, monsters and graphics are a step up from chapter 1!
This is the best game I have ever played in my entire life og. PLAY THE GAME!!!!!!!!! From the very first moment, The Designer's Curse Chapter 2 completely blew me away. This isn't just a game — it's an experience. The atmosphere is absolutely masterful, combining perfectly crafted sound design, lighting, and level layout to deliver a deeply immersive horror journey that kept me on edge the entire time (in the best way possible!). The game builds on everything that made the first chapter great and takes it to the next level. The tension, the pacing, the scares — everything is dialed up to 11. I found myself constantly impressed by the level of detail and the clear passion that went into every corner of this world. It's rare to see indie horror done this well. The puzzles are clever, the environments are rich with lore, and the sense of progression is super satisfying. And don’t even get me started on the monsters — terrifying, unique, and used with perfect timing. It never felt cheap, only chilling in the most unforgettable way. Honestly, The Designer's Curse Chapter 2 deserves way more attention. It’s a shining example of how indie horror can rival — and sometimes surpass — big studio games. If you’re a fan of atmospheric horror, this is a must-play. 10/10, absolutely phenomenal work.
(Review is in 2 languages, please see the english version below) CZE: Druhá kapitola Designer's Curse je fajn pokračováním, které rozšiřuje vše, co jste měli na první kapitole rádi. V neposlední řadě musím vychválit opět vynikající soundtrack a i překvapivě dobrý voice acting. Za cenovku zhruba 125 korun se to rozhodně vyplatí. Pokud to takhle bude pokračovat i v dalších kapitolách, máme se na co těšit. Snad už to tentokrát zabere trošku menší dobu. PS: Nejstrašidelnější částí hry je stejně to zjištění, že jste brit :) EN: The 2nd chapter of the Designer's Curse is a great continuation which expands on everything you loved about the 1st chapter. I really liked the puzzles, especially the new ones with the UV flashlight, cause they are really creative. The UV reveals secret messages (even if there's not a lot of them) and codes, which may not always be hidden in the safest of places. It's a great way to force the player to take action instead of hiding from the monster. Speaking of monsters, we see both old and new faces - I really like the new monster, his design is great (I call him "Eyes"). One thing that bugs me is the fact that sometimes the monster only spawns when you're already leaving the area, which kinda ruins the atmosphere. However, to give credit where credit is due, the final chase was very intense and actually had me scared. Lastly, the soundtrack is great as always and even the voice acting is surprisingly good. All of this for 5 bucks is a steal. If the future chapters are as good as this one, we're in for a ride. Though hopefully they don't take as long as this one. PS: The scariest part was finding out that you're bri'ish :)
Seriously can't wait for the next one!
my only complaint is that it was short but when thats my only problem with it you know its a good game, really reminds me of the old amnesia and i think it has alot of potential to get a third game! i'd recommend a playthrough 100%
