About
Note: You don’t need to have played the first chapter to enjoy this one.
At 15 years old, I released my first survival horror game on Steam, The Designer's Curse, a game inspired by influential old-school horror titles such as Amnesia and Penumbra. Now, after finally finishing uni, I'm excited to bring you Chapter Two, Forgotten Horrors—an engaging survival horror experience. Explore Shaw Well Manor once more, uncovering its dark secrets and immersing yourself in it's tenebrous atmosphere.
Featuring incredible original music by Mikko Tarmia, known for his work on Amnesia and SOMA, the game delivers a hauntingly beautiful experience. With advanced physics-based gameplay (inspired by the works of Frictional Games) and terrifying creatures roaming the manor, you'll navigate its eerie halls as Albert, uncovering a story shrouded in mystery.
With satisfying, immersive physics inspired by the works of Frictional Games, the game's world is just at your fingertips.
I made this game pretty much on my own, coding away in my university dorm—though I had some help from a few talented friends. After all that work, I’m so proud to say it’s finally finished.
As you explore, you can physically jot down your own notes in the inventory to keep track of vital clues. A built-in notebook also logs solved puzzles, ensuring you never lose progress.

been a long time fan ever since Buried Beneath, really amazing to see how far you've come. The first playthrough I would say took about an hour and a half. worth the price too, especially since you get to support a really talented indie developer. Chapter 2 surpassed the first one and my expectations in every single way possible, it has it's scary moments, the puzzles are really unique and fun to figure out even if they might not be too obvious at first, the monster designs are great, the environments are really cool, it all feels a lot more professional and stylized and sometimes it really feels like you're playing Amnesia or a similar experience from Frictional Games. The voice acting and dialogue was also a very nice surprise. Doesn't feel amatureish at all and it was even really funny at times. Only small complaint which is not really a complaint but still, I hope the next chapter(s) will come out a bit faster. But this was still worth all the wait. Really hope you make more!
The Designer's Curse Chapter 2 is a noticeable step up in quality over the first chapter, with great atmosphere, ambience, tone and personal flair. While it's clear to see the developer has taken heavy inspiration from developer Frictional Games, he's managed to make it feel like his own style, and the continuation from chapter to chapter flows naturally. Aspects I really like are the immersive soundtrack, detailed environment design, improved character development and a very memorable scene towards the end. Enemy encounters are simple but well designed, managing to keep their tension throughout. The puzzles are also pretty well executed. Overall I had a great time with this game and I recommend it if you're looking for some earnest horror goodness. I suppose the worst thing about it is it really left me wanting more! I do wish it was longer, but I'd much rather have a short and sweet experience over one that's drawn out and loses steam. I very much look forward to seeing what Christian will create next. Great job, king.
I got to finish chapter 2 today this game is scary and good to play and it looks a lot like Amnesia.
A Must-Play for Horror Fans!! This game delivers a genuinely terrifying experience with incredible atmosphere, tense pacing, and psychological scares that linger long after you stop playing. The sound design, visuals, and the puzzles all work together to create a sense of dread that’s hard to shake. If you’re into horror, this is one of the best out there!!!! 依旧短小精悍,相比第一章来说,对剧情有了进一步的解释,但是游戏里还是有部分bug比较容易触发,希望作者能尽快做出第三章哈哈
Had a BLAST playing through this one! From the sound design, music, graphics and gameplay (including decent puzzles) this is an all round SOLID horror game! Thanks Christian keep it up! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Yes, this is why I love indie games. This was a *chefs kiss* experience. I'm here to demand the next chapter!
Felt like I was playing Amnesia for the first time all over again. It carries that same feeling of dread through a lot of its playtime. Although, for some mandatory criticism, I feel like it started to feel more frustrating towards the end of the game with the final puzzle and
chase sequence.
The last puzzle felt very cumbersome and uncreative compared to the earlier puzzles, and it really put a halt to the momentum it was building up. The
final chase sequence
is also really frustrating to survive. I don't think the player is given enough time to get through everything. I had to replay it several times and it just wasn't scary anymore. The rest of the game feels alright, though. The atmosphere and soundtrack was exceptional. Obviously it's not a complete game, so while disappointing, I expected that going in.
This game has a really great story And some of the best puzzles i have ever seen within a game, if you like horror and getting chased by monsters while simultaneously solving puzzles I recommend this game too you. "Worth every penny"
