The Demon's Apple - Otome Game

Not awful, but really not great. I can't recommend this game, but it had potential, so I have some feedback. The English translation falls quite flat. There are just some weird bits that aren't polished in the dialogue. I can't speak for the original script, but based on the game as a whole, both leads feel... just devoid of all personality. That's one thing for a MC that players might just self-insert with, but the love interest should probably have a bit more substance. He was cute enough but totally boring, which ruins it. For a game advertised as having adult content, it was extremely tame, basically just lackluster. The only actual nudity was the MC's (the girl you play as, to be very clear) nipples, lol. Just really not what I was expecting or hoping for in that regard. Felt a little shortchanged as I was mainly buying this for the sake of supporting an up-and-coming NSFW otome game, which is a somewhat underserved niche. As for positives of this game, I liked the art style and some concepts. The plot was soo meh by the end- I was expecting way more to actually be addressed and fleshed out, but it just wasn't. Felt like a lot of exposition about how MC is seemingly a witch, allusions to her mother, her wanting to help the demons, all for it to kind of be brushed under the rug. As I did play through the whole thing and it had some good moments and decent atmosphere, I won't say it's awful. but it was for sure underwhelming and somewhat disappointing.

Oke, let me take a breath at first. I am not a person who writes easly negative reviews, but sometimes games bother me so much I just need to write. I tried in the past a other game of the Developer but dropped it after a short time, but I wanted to give another chance. I played a lot of visual novel, included Otome and BL (over 100) and I can enjoy a lot of stuff while other ppl get easy annoyed, but there is one thing that annoys me sadly, and this is the writing. When I read visual novel, I want to enjoy the story. Sadly, this developer lacks in writing her storys. She has good ideas (like here too) but too often I have the feeling she writes only half of the context and the other context is missing, still in the head were I can't read the whole thing. The pacing also lacks, the depth, the development of the MC, sometimes even dialogues cringe me so out. I am not sure if its because the writer need more experience, but I am rly sorry, the writing and pacing ist just a huge let down. I am sad, because the premise is rly interesing, the artwork pretty, the animations nice. I am sorry but this is a 4/10 for me because I coudnt enoy it. :/

我不懂，明明是两个陌生人，女主一直如同照顾巨婴一样捧着男主，对男主百依百顺天天送炮，而男主对女主的态度说得难听点就是当斐济杯给他提供性能量。类似情节的处理的话seduce me要好得多。 女主在被骗炮之后第一反应是对自己感到羞耻然后平和告别而不是对男主感到愤怒，其他人劝说女主belike他伤害了你，女主仍然belike哎呀他没那么坏他是有苦衷的，然后作为受害者好声好气地求加害者男主回来。什么封建游戏冷脸洗内裤啊我服了！ 文本大部分都是女主的心理活动，全篇都像是恋爱脑女主在意淫，而且莫名其妙女主就爱上了，明明人物关系都没有通过事件递进。虽然写着nsfw，但是只有女主的裸体，都女性向了怎么女主还在被当成砧板上的肉被凝视，这合理吗？ 剧情有点太直给了，很多地方连铺垫都没有就直接一个又一个地迎来短小无趣的剧情。人造糖精感很浓，类似于作者告诉玩家“好了我现在写了个很甜的情节玩家你们开始嗑吧”。女主主观能动性看起来很低，总是被剧情推着走。 角色完全没逻辑，骑士哥性格写得太诡异了完全没征兆突然就变成超雄翻脸不认人，恶魔男主看起来很厉害实际上很菜。女主一直为男主做这做那但男主几乎啥事不干。 这样的游戏质量和剧情体量卖四十块钱实在不合理，itch上面的定价甚至是十美元。itch上大家的评价还是爱说好话一些，毕竟发恶评的话得直面作者。

A slow burn romance with hints of spice to make it nice. Well written and gorgeous illustrations. [h3][u]Gameplay & Settings[/u][/h3] You play as Pomme (name is changeable but such a great mc name), who is the village herbalist. Out collecting ingredients in the forest you come across a wounded demon who you foolishly help. Surrounded by dangers he shacks up with you much to your dismay. Demons need human mana to survive and that means you're on the menu…delightful! I highly enjoyed the story, it is very well written and the encounters between Styx and Pomme are a slow burning romance with some spice mixed in. I was blushing a few times! 🔹One play-though took me about an hour and a bit (will depend on your reading speed). There are three endings in total to achieve. Sadly no achievements for this one at this time. 🌶️ Spice Level - High. Definitely spicy. Settings & extras include; display options, skip text options, language, text speed, auto-forward time speed, and audio controls. There are plenty of save slots and you can hide the hud to enjoy the artwork or take screen captures. The text is very easy to read with a grey font on a dark background. Extras include a gallery you can unlock as you play. [h3][u]The Visuals & Audio[/u][/h3] I really enjoy the artwork in this game. The character art is vibrant and well illustrated and I really have to point out how well the backgrounds are done in this novel. It is so refreshing to see attention given to them and not just the sprites. There are also particle effects in some backgrounds to give the look of light streaming into the environments (adds a magical feel). The novel has no voice acting or ambient sounds but the soundtrack is enjoyable. Nice soundtrack, nice story, nice artwork, i would give it a 7/10 my only suggestion is that the writing could be a bit more mature, and flesh out the story more. The MC's thinking process makes her out to be a naive and a doormat (I don't mind doormat MC's but she was a bit too much lol). I see the potential, the world-building is interesting, but maybe needs more work in terms of writing. ----------- SPOILERS AHEAD: I kept waiting for her to get mad at Styx after he used and left her when they met again, but she was too welcoming without even acting slightly cold or hurt or anything, it put me off a little bit. Also her dad doesn't act like a dad at all, because let's be real what father would be fine with his daughter to be left alone with a man and a demon at that back at the inn, maybe I'm too arab for this cuz our dads would break the door if we closed it after that encounter lmao. That said though, i don't regret buying or playing it. Waiting for your other work Kakera.

Just loved it! You gotta love a demon like Styx ♥ The art is just gorgeous with plenty of CGs to enjoy and the story telling feels very well-rounded; I really liked the worldbuilding and was sad that I couldn't see a lot more of it.

I didn't like how no matter what she didn't get angry. Like in the beginning you don't even really have the choice to NOT heal him? he attacks her but she just lets it slide? i donno he pissed me off and by proxy she did too.

I’m new to otome games, and I love how the video game format can tell stories and draw us in in different ways. I really enjoyed playing this game! It took me a little while to get into it, but once I did, I found it pretty engaging—I wanted to see what happened next and learn more about the world and the characters! The artwork is beautiful, and the scenes are well-crafted. The characters are endearing. I was just left wanting a little more—I wanted to know more, there are still unanswered questions, and I really want to see more! I got a really good ending :) Can’t wait to see the next games!

Bride Styx! As a rabid fan of indie otome games and the romantasy genre, I have to say I enjoyed this short romp of a visual novel. And in a Bone, Bride, Banish husbando ranking? I Bride Styx! Why? He's HOT, OK? Also he cooks. HE COOKS! And he's protective. And when he loves, he loves hard. What's not to like? Ok yes he is bitey. I'll give you that. But he's precious, ok? Tee hee. Also I always appreciate being able to play in the female perspective in a story like this because it makes an impact on what the MC fears and values and how the built world treats her. We would have lost that impact if there was no established Main Character with her own identity. I got the Good Ending but I'll be back soon to 100% the rest of them. *I was invited to play this game. This is my honest opinion.

Going in after seeing the negative reviews, I kept my expectations low especially when it comes to the writing. Despite that, I genuinely enjoyed the game! The plot is definitely cliche, but it scratches a very specific itch I have for the “non-human boy and human girl” trope. The CGs are beautiful, and the soundtrack is really calming. If you're looking for a simple, funny turn off your brain kinda visual novel, this is it!
