The Chaput's Baby is buggy, riddled with bad grammar, and practically requires being a speed reader to get through the captions that stay on the screen for maybe 5 seconds max, but goshdang if it ain't entertaining. I wouldn't recommend the game at full price, but if you can snag it for a 2-spot, there are worse ways to spend a couple of hours.
Середняк, скримеры есть прятки и побегушки на месте, оптимизацию бы получше.. На этом у меня все.
This is a good horror game made by a solo developer. The gameplay is you basic walking simulator collecting items to be able to solve puzzles to progress and sometimes hiding from the enemy. There is some bugs like when you interact with an item and you need to say Yes or No the dialogue box gets stuck in your screen until you die and another one is that if you die you loose the piggies collectibles but this stuff can be fixed easily. Overall its a good game from a solo developer and hope to see more games from him.
The Chaput's Baby is a really underrated little horror gem on Steam, which while not perfect is an excellent example of what a solo dev can produce. The basic premise of the game has you baby sitting for a local family who have converted a church into their home. Upon arrival however you quickly realise that things are not all as they seem in the house. You must look after the "baby" while navigating puzzles and threats all of which for the most part are straightforward while unravelling the mysteries of the house. It's a fun little story with some good creepy twists and an AMAZING finale I don't want to spoil, but it's just brilliant. The game is first of all not without flaws, by default it's too dark but it does at least provide a gamma slider. I did need to turn the brightness up to retina searing levels to locate a door I needed to progress but other than that it was fine. I think something devs need to be aware of a lot of the time horror isn't scary if it's too dark to tell whats actually happening. That said, its easily resolvable even if it gives the game a washed out look. The game also suffers a little from lack of direction "what do I do next" moments, however as the house isn't ridiculously large its fairly easy to locate the next objective even if it's accidental. Now on to the good stuff, the game has a decent plot as mentioned before and some tense moments when running from enemies in the house (you can hide in closets from them etc) . When the games truth is revealed the final few chases in particular have some excellent tense moments with some great sound design and really gripped me. Just generally the games strong point was tense but never unfair escape sequences.I don't want to spoil the ending for you all here but just know that the final chase is something... and worth it! Overall the game provides decent gameplay, good scares, strong chase sequences and just a fun little indie horror experience that will take about an hour to complete (longer to find all collectables) and the dev should be really proud they made this with limited resources. Don't pass on the title, support the dev and allow them make an even better project next time!
The Chaputs Baby is pretty good!

There's a lot here to enjoy, from the visuals to the story and lore the game built up relatively competently, it's all made with love, but is definitely NOT without it's flaws.
This is a first person horror game, mostly under the genre of "Walking Simulator" though there are instances where you get chased and have to hide. I wouldn't consider this game scary, but more atmospheric and tense when it wants to be. The game ran decently, though there were a few hiccups, mostly in the cutscenes. There is also a pretty irritating bug that caused me to restart my game THREE times. During the first chase sequence, I went into the dining room and hid in a cupboard there, but the game would softlock me inside it, meaning I'd have to restart the encounter. Any other hiding spot works fine except the one in the dining room. I quite like the unique-ish visual style, and being able to see my characters hands and feet in cutscenes shows that there was effort and love put into creating this title. The clown is appropriately creepy and the sound design is okay, but there's nothing here that's overtly terrifying. There is also a pretty fun achievement list to boot! I bought this game for $6.00 NZD, (about $4.00USD), and would I say it's worth the price? Considering the quality of a lot of other titles under the same price point, I'd say so. this game makes for a fun time for Streamers/YouTubers alike, or anyone who enjoys the vibe of "mascot horror", (THIS ISN'T A MASCOT HORROR TITLE HOWEVER, JUST HAS A SIMILAR VIBE). This is a solid horror game for newcomers and veterans of the genre! Really fun indie horror game! Good jump scares, story line and even had a few fun laughs along the way! If you are a fan of indie horror games, this is a great one to add to your library! Took me about 3 hours to finish.
Had a lot of fun with this one! A few buggy moments here and there, but nothing that took away from the experience, and the fact that this was made by a solo developer is phenomenal! Lots of great scares/creepy moments and loved the references to various tv shows/movies. Played this on stream and chat seemed to really enjoy it. Plus the developer came in at the end and was super nice!
Yani yarım saatlik bir demo gibi. Hikayesi yok gibi bir şey, oynanış yok gibi bir şey ama bir şekilde sonuna kadar gidiyorsunuz. Denemeyin, izleyin.
