The Catalyst Acolyte Tower Defense

Not a plus or minus at this stage as it appears to still need a bit of work. Graphics are good and pathing length is not too short. However, as mentioned in another review, balancing is out , particularly with baby dragons (when you can afford them) as nothing seems to get past them in the early levels. Would like to see colour changes on towers when you upgrade them and I am not sure end of level upgrades are working. Will watch with interest, but baby dragon overkill spoils it at this stage.

Not perfectly balanced but with a few updates you could tell it would be a cute tower defense game

Three and a half hours in, and I have to sadly change my review from positive to negative. If you're good with that much for for a buck, which is what I paid, then go for it, it's kind of fun, but is is sadly unfinished, and even worse, unbalanced. Once I get about thirty levels in, I really have no need to build anymore, everything dies pretty quickly. I feel like they were working on more and tougher monsters, and got bored and quit? Just a guess. I also reached the point where I could pick my first oversized tower, but it simply could not be added to the load out. Not sure if they never actually built the unit, or if that is broken. Either way, that suck. There is also something called 'evolve' which units can do if you buy the upgrade, but it doesn't seem to work. I got it for one unit, and it simply never seemed to do anything. There are other signs that it is unfinished, and there was also a comment in the discussion thread from February saying it just stops working a few more level in than where I am now. The developers never responded, so I assume that is still an issue. I am hoping the developer is still around, so I can change this back, it was a lot of fun, up to the point when the jagged unfinished edges intruded, but as is, one thumb down.
