A cute 3D experiment that forgot the “hidden” in “hidden cats”
200 Hidden House Cats had me intrigued right away: a 3D cat-finding game? Sign me up! Unfortunately, what I got was less of a hunt and more of a guided house tour… where all 200 cats are sitting politely in plain sight. It’s not bad, exactly, but it’s not fun either. So despite not being bad per se, I can't recommend it in good faith either. You explore a single large map with over 75 rooms, which sounds impressive until you realize there’s no real challenge to the search. Most cats are just there, lounging in the open, waiting for you to click them. Once you find one, a little heart pops up over its head: cute idea, but it isn't visible for all of them, which makes finding the last few a frustrating guessing game. Controls are another mixed bag. You can move around with either WASD or the mouse, but the sensitivity is cranked up so high that it feels like your camera’s had too much catnip. Trying to zoom in or make precise movements often sends the view spinning across the room, killing any cozy “cat hunt” vibe this could’ve had. The zoom itself is solid, but good luck using it without motion sickness. On the bright side, there are some nice touches: 3D cats are a rare treat in hidden object games, there’s an autosave system, no achievement clutter, and unlimited penalty-free hints that don't need any charging time. But those same hints instantly reveal the answers, so it’s less of a “hint” and more of a “give up” button. Once you’ve found everything, that’s it. No unlocks, no bonus mode, just…done. Overall, it’s a quick 14-minute run that might amuse someone brand new to hidden object games or anyone looking for something totally effortless. But for seasoned hunters, it’s just too flat, too fast, and too obvious. Seeing a HOG with cats in 3D is a rarity. Most are 2D and usually have a few levels. This one has just one with with a decent amount of rooms where 200 pets stay hidden. It is a nice little HOG but not without issues. First off, when you drag your mouse to move the screen, you can see screen tearing. There are no settings for the graphics so you have to make do with the effect. For some reason dragging the screen puts our cursor in the center position upon releasing the right click. Additionally, some cats face us which means their body is difficult to spot. Those we click on have a heart appearing on top of them. But those hiding do not have the same feature or the heart just remains in cover due to the 3D objects. I think a good idea would be to darken a room once all cats have been found. This way you click on already found animals way too may times. There is a hint functionality which shows missing cats zoomed in. This is probably the easiest way of getting a hint. No directional help with sound... here you go, we show you exactly where the missing cats are! There isn't even a cooldown for the use of the hint feature. All in all I was satisfied with the game but there is a lot more to do here to make it better. Hope the dev will release some fixes or new features / fixes will be added to their next project in the genre.
Do you have what it takes to find 200 mischievous cats? In a huge house before all hell breaks loose? Let's find out! 200 Hidden House Cats by Developer 626 Interactive You have one level with a bazillion stacked rooms in a 3D environment, trying to find 200 cleverly hidden cats. There are real meow sounds to listen to when you pet each one. Also you will see a heart above the cat when you find them. Nice way to let you know it registered your click. Some hearts are not easy to see with a table or something in the way. If found but not seeing a heart, you can click it again but it will only meow once when found. Has a pleasant arcade/game show type of music to enjoy on your searching journey. There is a nice hint system that zooms in on our missing little fur ball, with no time out before you can use it again. Also zoom was excellent, with nice and clear images. The game now auto-saves after finding each cat. All these feature are very convenient to aid me in my tireless search for being, "The Ultimate Cat Finder!" lol https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3362537128 Pros: * Zoom * Hint System * Arcade Music * 3D Environment * 7 Achievements * Family Sharing * 200 Hidden Cats * No Issues using Windows 11 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3362536862 Cons: * No Trading Cards * Profile Features Limited Rating: 8.5/10 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3362536577 Final Thoughts: An incredibly fun and addicting game of finding some cleverly hidden cats, while some are right there looking at you. Maybe laughing while waiting for you to discover them. Lots of stacked rooms with cats running amuck getting into everything. Find them before it's too late. Inexpensive price for lots of enjoyment and smiles. Has achievements, hints and zoom. With a cat counter, so you always know how many more cats are left hidden. With lots of adorable looking cats of various colors. So charming, that I think I will play it again! 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow Third group
and discover more reviews from me.
UNIQUE 3D VISUALS🐈
I loved the unique 3D layered rooms effect; it kind of reminded me of the Hidden Paws series, without the 360° rotation feature. The goal is to find 200 adorable 3D cats by searching rooms which are basically stacked cubicles that are open in the front. You can zoom the screen large enough for aging eyes, and drag the screen around...the design is very easy to navigate! When you click on a cat a heart will appear over their head, however, some of the hearts are barely noticeable and some of the partially hidden cats don't appear to have a heart above them.
Drawbacks:
I really think the devs missed a golden opportunity to make this an amazing game by adding some hidden cats to search for by interacting with elements in each room. Other than that, this was a very enjoyable game that was more fun than I had expected. Let me preface this by saying that this is a lovely little game, that operates fairly well, with great graphics. My issue is with my inability to finish the game without needing the hint button, even though I can see the hidden kitties. I click on them, but I don't get credit for them... very frustrating. the only way I could get the last 10-15 cats was to use the hint key, which took me to the cats that I had seen earlier, but now gave me a heart. Honestly, I felt cheated. As for the number of hours played... I had paused the game, but the timer continued. It's a much shorter game.
Fun little game if you want to chill for 10-15 mins
I have been obsessed with hidden object games that I buy as many as I could. I enjoy the hunt and honestly, I have a lot of fun. However, I didn't have fun in this game. I have thought about whether I should leave this review or not. But I have to for the sake of improvement in the future. This is a cute game. I loved it in the beginning, I enjoyed the hunt. But after finding 200 cats, what now? I was waiting for the cats dancing or doing something cute to celebrate finding all 200, but nothing. After finishing the game, you just stare at it. It didn't even allow me to replay the game with a timer to set a record for completing the game fast. Once you're done, it's done. Unfortunately, that's the curse of hidden object games. The replayability is so low that is why you have to think of ways how to increase your game's replayability. Maybe add more levels? Or have secret items to find that you have to solve a puzzle to find them? I just need something else because the price is too much for a hidden object game that is this simple! I could name other 3D hidden object game that are cheaper but better than this one. Im glad I got my refund lol.
This game has Zero (0) difficult. And the part with 3D is useless (I thought there are cats hidden behind the environment). Even for the low price ... no can't recommend this game.
