Good adaptation of the board game

Good adaptation of a very fun board game. For those who like to think ahead and plan things in advance. The Alert system, which provides you with a constant series of hurdles to overcome, makes the game consistently challenging.
Amazing digital adaptiation. 10/10 Thank God for the tactical view otherwise this marvel would be unplayable :P
If you like the board game, you will probably like this. For those not familiar, this game requires a lot of pre-planning, as well as resource and action management. If you try to wing it, you will probably die on anything harder than easy mode. You can play with any size crew, playing with 7 members makes the game harder, if you can't maximize your efficiency and planning with all 7. Any member who is wasting a turn hurts you. A random 7 person crew is probably the hardest mode. Teleporting crew members who's turn it is NOT, is very important for pre-planning. I find these 5 can to be a strong core for people struggling with the game, * Admiral or First Office (Draw Battle plans like crazy, override Alerts) * Engineer (get the repair tool and fix the Core and teleporter) * 1st Tactical Officer (Repair shields draw Skills) (Can swap soldiers here, if you want to shoot torpedos, and kill aliens easier) * Medical Officer (Research, Alert overrides if necessary, Heal people and draw skills) * Ensign (Swap tools and skills on everyone, and deal with any problem once you have the skills)
love the tabletop game but this is a poor adaption to a video game.
Really enjoy the Captain is Dead. Played it during the pandemic and it helped me stay sane.
Man... I really want to like this game. I do. The learning curve, for me, was pretty stiff (granted, I don't play these kinds of games much). the graphics are okay, but the user interface just has that Fortnite chaotic feel and confusing UI. There is no variation in music, once you've heard one you've heard them all. It can be very frustrating when teammates need to be healed. It's a crapshoot with the Quick mode, and you can spend your entire time just trying to heal your crewmates. It sucks. Anyway. I probably wouldn't recommend this game. I **really** wanted to like this game... I think as a board game it's fine but the port to video game needs a lot of work to engage players more.
A solid game that matches the board game well. It's a difficult game to master as you are juggling many emergencies that need your limited resources. Well worth it if you played the board game and liked it or didn't want to buy the board game and still play it. I'm sad it doesn't come with multiplayer options as this game would be more fun with people to yell at and blame. Also there are some UI issues that make navigation or finding information a little hard. Also the internal links to things like steam leaderboards don't seem to work anymore. Buy this on 50% sale if you like board games, it's a fun one.
