I don't mind the board game esqe gameplay though the FPS component leaves much to be desired. I picked this up for $3 but it really should've been a dollar especially since it hasn't received an update in about 6 years. A typical sale price of $15 is insanity though and I would only recommend buying this on sale.

the only problem with the game is that they haven't released a second one. I love the art style and the game play.

"Fans of the original will love this game" is a line that is grossly misused! Anyone who was a fan of the original Amiga classic will find this awful and in almost every respect nothing to be played more than once if you even bother to finish a single game as it is that bad! from clunky fps to reworked map and mechanics that just don't in anyway respect the source material. if you liked the original simply get an emulator and play the original as this is god awful and doesn't inspire the player to go back for more and enjoy hours of fun like the original did! SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSWHERE ON OTHER BETTER DONE REMAKES LIKE FLASHBACK FOR ONE OR CHAOS ENGINE FOR ANOTHER (chaos engine is the NES version but aside from the garish bright colour scheme it is still the same game).

"North & South" ist für mich mehr als nur ein Strategiespiel – es ist ein Stück Kindheit. Ich habe es unzählige Male auf dem Amiga 500 gespielt, und allein der ikonische Startbildschirm mit der eingängigen Melodie lässt mich jedes Mal grinsen. Das Spiel versetzt einen mitten in den amerikanischen Bürgerkrieg – allerdings mit einem kräftigen Augenzwinkern. Die comichafte Grafik, der überzeichnete Humor und die kleinen, charmanten Animationen (wer erinnert sich nicht an den Blitz, der Soldaten vom Pferd haut?) machen den ernsten historischen Hintergrund auf eine wunderbar unterhaltsame Art zugänglich. "North & South" eignet sich perfekt für eine schnelle Runde zwischendurch. Die Mischung aus Strategie auf der Karte, Action in den Schlachten und kleinen Minispielen wie dem Zugüberfall sorgt für Abwechslung, ohne zu überfordern. Man braucht keine stundenlange Einarbeitung – einfach loslegen und Spaß haben. Besonders viel Freude macht das Spiel zu zweit. Ob als Union oder Konföderation – das Gerangel um Staaten, Forts und Eisenbahnen wird schnell zum spaßigen Schlagabtausch auf dem Sofa. Dabei bleibt es stets fair und kurzweilig. Fazit: "North & South" ist ein nostalgisches Kleinod, das durch seinen Humor, seine charmante Präsentation und den unkomplizierten Spielablauf auch heute noch begeistert – besonders im Duell mit einem Freund. Wer es früher auf dem Amiga 500 gespielt hat, wird sofort wieder ein Stück Kindheit spüren.

Oui, je recommande mais Il serait beaucoup plus fun a joué avec un copain à la maison sur la bonne vieille console/manettes plutôt que tout seul devant son pc clavier/souris même avec une manette ^^.
