Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Aug 20 → 4/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

The Black Grimoire: Cursebreaker is a medieval fantasy singleplayer adventure inspired by oldschool games like RuneScape and Ultima Online! Journey through a sprawling open world full of npcs with dialogue, level skills, fight varied monsters and uncover the story of Rothar Aercrest – the cursed lord to the remote woodlands of Imberthale. Increase your power by advancing 4 combat & 8 crafting/harvesting skills; craft, loot or be rewarded powerful items; unlock special attacks and spells which will aid your way in defeating the worst monsters that lurk in the remote corners of the world.
Variety of quests with deep writing.
Numerous weapons and spells to employ in strategic combat.
Large open world that rewards exploration.
12 various skills to level.
Customizable player houses to rest your weary bones.
Social multiplayer - meet other players in towns, taverns etc.

Tired of ‘epic tales’ of ‘world ending proportions’, Cursebreaker offers stories of human pettiness, revenge and greed - all the good stuff. In this game you're not yet another 'chosen one' destined to save all life from impending doom and gloom. Instead, you're Lord Rothar Aercrest - the feudal ruler to the remote woodlands of Imberthale. Or at least you used to be...

One fateful day your path crosses that of a dark wizard, Gabrius, who appears to be both tremendously powerful and frightfully malicious. Consequently you soon find yourself caught within a mortal feud between two powerful wielders of magic, all the while bound by a curse you desperately need to break free from.
If Lord Rothar is to know peace again, Gabrius must surely die. That might not prove to be such a simple task. After all, what is death besides a mere nuisance to the master of the Black Grimoire?

Character progression in Cursebreaker is tied to the various skills you can advance. All in-game interactions tend to give experience in your various skills, and gaining higher skill levels will unlock appropriate interactions, abilities and crafting options. Fighting enemies in close quarters, for example, will increase your Attack and Defence skills. As they gain levels, you unlock new passive and activated abilities, can wield more sophisticated weapons and armor, and gain access to new traits from the appropriate trainers.
The spellbook offers a large variety of both combat and non-combat utility. Finding and learning new spells may prove a challenge in itself, and casting more demanding spells will require preparation, such as gathering specific ingredients. Feel free to create your own playstyle by using any combination of ranged and melee weapons and spells!
The crafting and harvesting skills provide a variety of bonuses too. Gaining experience in woodsmanship through felling trees not only provides you with crafting materials for bows and such, but may allow you to pass through obstacles in the world and otherwise speed up your exploration. Skill in Alchemy does not only unlock potions, but also bombs and poisons!
Available skills in the game include Attack, Defence, Archery, Sorcery, Smithing, Crafting, Tailoring, Alchemy, Mining, Woodsmanship, Fishing and Cooking.
The game automatically saves your progress. In the event you fall in combat, you will be revived at your nearest graveyard, having potentially lost some of your valuables along the way. No worry, these can be recovered either by visiting the place of your death, or by paying a scavenger. Remember to carry restorative foods and protective potions to guard against dangerous enemies!

Although Cursebreaker is a singleplayer game, it provides an option for a social multiplayer; in other words, you will be able to see other adventurers online, but the interactions are limited to chatting and inspecting equipment only. It will not be possible to trade with them or otherwise engage in gameplay-related activities with them. You may adjust the online mode to apply to big cities only, to be always on, or to opt out of it entirely and play fully offline in case you don't care for it.
Two authentic players chatting.

Fun chill game. Yeah, its grindy, but it's Runescape inspired so what do you expect. Sort of has the same appeal to me as playing idle games, listening to music and watching numbers go up.
If I could put "Maybe" instead of "Yes" or "No", I would. As an OSRS enjoyer, Black Grimoire scratches the RuneScape itch for me, but it still has a lot of issues that get in the way of enjoying the game. In no particular order, here are some cons to consider:

The performance of the game is not good. For presenting as a low-poly game with pretty minimal effects, it runs much worse than you'd expect. Expect to be CPU limited most of the time, especially if you want to play at a high refresh rate. There is a persistent traversal stutter as you run through the world. It's very common for me to have 1% lows in the single-digits.
There aren't enough options to make the leveling grind tolerable. Even as someone who enjoys OSRS, the grind is excessive. One of the main mitigations for a game as grindy as RuneScape is the sheer breadth of options. Black Grimoire doesn't have nearly the same variety of training options/methods, which makes the grind all the more apparent. It would be a lot more tolerable if you could swap between a few viable methods at any given point, but the game simply just doesn't have that much content.
Gaps in progression. Granted, I haven't finished the game. I'm not even sure that I will. But from what I've seen, there's a pretty significant drop-off in content. It seems like the vast majority of the game's quests (through the end of the main Gabrius questline) were designed to be done in the 0-30 combat range. Then there's a bit more at 40, then 60, then some endgame at 80+. The early game is much more satisfying because there is a steady stream of things to do - quests, areas, gear etc.
The horse familiar is annoying to manage. Pretty early on, you unlock a horse/pack mule that can bank items for you. It's very convenient when training skills, as you can pretty easily send raw materials back to the bank. However, the game tries to prevent you from using the horse during combat by making it run away after the player gets attacked a few times. There are a few ways you can manage this: [olist]
Send the horse back to the bank. It'll return after a short while. This is the fastest/highest availability option
Send the horse away. This requires waiting for the horse summon ability to come off cooldown before getting the horse back. This is the slowest/worst option.
Let the horse run away. It'll return after a short while, albeit longer than if sent to the bank. [/olist] So basically the best way to use the horse during combat in my experience is to constantly send it back to the bank or you have to wait longer to get the horse back. It's just annoying.
Missing QOL options. Just to name a few: you can't have the same ability on more than one hotbar (imagine you have one hotbar for melee, one for ranged, one for magic - you could see how it would be useful to have healing/defensive on each). You can't reorder menu items. You can't bind a key to pick up all items in a lootpile. You can't bind a key to easily move an item to your horse. You can't bind a key to move all items of the same type. You can't select the left-click deposit/withdraw amount at the bank (1, 5, 10, 25, X).
Very cool game! Well made with lots of quality game design! :)
I feel this game is a masterpiece for what it is. After a full clear of the game including the new boss recently added I can without a doubt say I recommend this game for anyone that likes that runescape feel. Go into it with the mindset that it is a time consume if you really want to level up your skills. BUT all in all I hope the developers continue being amazing either in this game or future projects. Thanks for the content!
Game is buggy and the only real good part is the tutorial, walking doesn't even work right
this game is so fun. if you like osrs give this a look.
One of the premier Scapelikes. Strongly reminiscent of Runescape without the MMO bloat.
Old school pseudo single player (other players can be see walking around, but you can't really interact with them) RPG where you just "DO THING" to "LEVEL THING" - want to be a Lumberjack? Well ... get swinging your axe!
Соскучились по рунскейп? вам сюда! Да это урезанная версия рунскейп, но без грёбанных лагов. Вайбы одолевают.
Ya like Runescape? It's Runescape basically. The negative reviews talking about being grindy are wild, considering this game is basically Runescape.
