It's a "yes" short game with a touch of souls-like mechanics. Good to pass a few delightful hours without rush and grinding teeth. A bit childish, perhaps, both from looks and by design, yet it has the charm. You will probably quitly enjoy it if you are not expecting the fluiding of Wukong and agility of Elden Ring.
oh my god.. most boring stuff i try in a long time
i loved remnant 1 and 2 so i decided to play the prequel. its ♥♥♥♥, just play dark souls. only play chronos if you want a bit more remnant lore or enjoy ♥♥♥♥♥♥ soulslikes
I would say a relic of it's time, but even then better games in the genre existed. Bad camera, enemies that ignore being hit through their combos or are so easily put into a combo they are trivial, several enemies where blocking is useless because you still take damage, and dodging taking no stamina making it the obvious better option always. I'm glad I played remnant first because I would never have given this company another try if this was the first game i played.
Chronos: Before the Ashes is a pretty good adventure title, that comes with a rather simple combat system, some cool locations, and an intriguing plot, which focuses on mystery and puzzle solving. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3658884917
Quick Version: DON'T BUY FULL PRICE: WAIT FOR A CHEAP SALE!!! Long Version: ------------------------------ Bought this on a sale saw the reviews and thought it'd be worth a shot. I am not a souls player, my first playthrough was Elden Ring and it was not a normal playthrough in the slightest; With that said This was my first real souls exp. and tbh I loved it! I think this is a perfect game for anyone unsure if they would like a souls like game. It took me exactly 12 hours to complete my first playthrough (with exploring and dying). I finished level 60, age 52. Souls veterans might find this game too easy. Considering how short and rough the controls of this game feels, I do not recommend buying at full price. I got this on sale for 7.49 and for that price I loved the game. If I paid full price I would have been a bit disappointed tbh. The story, puzzles, and everything is great, but the controls are clunky and the game is short; The story also does not go into great detail, there aren't many weapons/equipment options, etc.- just not something I think is worth 30$. BUT I DO RECCOMEND PLAYING!
Apesar de eu recomendar Chronos: Before the Ashes, é preciso avisar: os chefões vão te fazer passar raiva.
I got this game for around 8$ (7.5 Euros) on sale. I did not expect much but i was pleasantly surprised how solid it is for that price. The game is in a way a souls like but it also has elements of something like an adventure/puzzle game similar to old Resident evil games. Its a prequel to the Remnant games so it also expands on the lore of those games. This becomes mora apparent when you realize this game was originally a VR game whit RE style fixed camera angles. (The fact it was a VR game is also apparent in the fact the game works decently whit universal unreal engine VR mod.) The game is also somewhat easier than an average souls game so this may also be a selling point for people who want to get in to the genre. While i do not think this game is worth the full price it's more than satisfying for the price i got it on sale.
If you can, try playing this before Remnant or Remnant 2, as this is the prequel to those games. It is a bit janky, but it is pretty fun. It isn't the longest game in the world, but it is pretty jam packed. The final boss has a pretty interesting gimmick too. The other bosses are good and not too hard, but pretty fun. I'd recommend getting this game.
Скучная, не понятная игра.
