The Beast of Stormy Forest is a free to play VR Escape the Room game. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played bad, sounded ok. The devs were planning to release other episodes for this game, currently there is 1 episode, while the game was released in Sept. 2020. The first episode has a 15 minute timer. CONs: - There was a constant ticking sound that was too loud. - Too easy to glitch items. - Bumping into items cause unwanted movements. - The clock. Try it, but it is buggy.

Short escape the room game with 3 puzzles to solve. You start in the room in question, some guy talks to you for a couple of seconds and leave the room, you examine the desk, and a 15min counter starts. The graphics and audio are ok... There is some physics implemented, like when you grab an item it can knock down other items, but in the end it feels a bit too clunky, like if you want to get close to the desk, it "pushes" you back. The usage of the touchpads in the vive controls is really weird, i accidentally exited the game 2 times while just clicking it accidentally. The puzzles are ok i guess, they are easy, but i did "brute forced" the combination puzzle, even with the answer i couldnt figure out how the clue for it was supposed to help me. While the game looks fine, Overall the game is a bit to janky for my tastes, and the game is quite short. Cant recommend this even as a Free experience as there are better free escape the rooms available.
Good premise, poor execution, and it appears to be abandonware, since its now 2023, the game came out in 2020, and ch2 is nowhere to be found, nor have there been any updates.
Dedektif Cobie Cromwell rolünde geçmişe zaman yolculuğu. Bu hikaye açısından zengin, sürükleyici, sanal gerçeklik kaçış odası oyununda ipuçlarını bulun ve bulmacaları çözün. Oyunun toplamda dört bölüm halinde yayınlanması planlanmış.
I don't often write reviews but this software is a mess. I cannot recommend. I felt I wasted my time trying this out. In its current form, there is no way I can see that the game can be improved. Even though the developer is not charging for the game, it still is a waste of time downloading. The graphics are way too crude. Story is Ho Hum. There is very little depth to the physical objects and this is just another attempt at taking very low resolution 2D content and forcing it into a 3D game. Any illusion of 3D is quickly destroyed when one moves into an oblique angle or pokes their head through an object. There is no in-game physics in that objects can pass through one another or behalf unnaturally. There is no way to pivot in-game or teleport. It's almost like the developer either tested this in a seated position or tested this while in a tiny space. That makes even room-scale a challenge if you don't have wireless. I suspect this may have been intended for either the Quest or perhaps one those cardboard cellphone VR adapters. It looks horrible on an Oculus Rift and on an HP Reverb G2 it looks downright disgusting. All in all, it doesn't even work well as a technology demonstrator because it's showing technology that has been around almost 20 years. I would say that this is likely a one man developer who is just starting to learn how to program in VR or this might have started as a Junior Year Comp Sci project and the developer is trying to see if they can scare up a few bucks for a paid version. As of now, this isn't even worth $1.00. If you ever played the original DOS version of Wolfenstein 3D, this is kind of like that but at higher resolution. The experience of poking one's head through solid objects is probably familiar to folks who played those games back then. But that was 1992 and the idea was fresh. I can't really understand why someone would release a game like this in 2020. Unpolished half-baked games like this are hurting VR because they are becoming too numerous and therefore setting a false narrative to newcomers to VR that VR is a crude technology.
Before I played The Beast of Stormy Forest, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
I don't recommend this. I'm tired of jank. I'm tired of low quality escape room games that only last 15 minutes. And the last puzzle with the clock annoyed me.
