even the devs must've known this wasn't going to hold up to the previous 2 deathspank games, so they dropped it from the title. it's technically more of the same, except very linear and not much fun.

Серия DeathSpank была (ну и есть) отличной лайт-ARPG, с глупым (иногда в хорошем плане) юмором, понятной прогрессией и приятным геймплеем. Жаль, что подобные игры делают раз в пятилетку, а сама серия DeathSpank сдохла после the baconing.

The weakest in the trilogy, mostly due to Ron Gilbert's departure, The Baconing's jokes are still decent, and the story still has its moments, but the humor isn’t quite as sharp as in the first two games. The environments are more varied, and now have a sci-fi twist. The story continues from the ending where DeathSpank defeats Sandy; after combining all 6 Thongs of Virtue, a new foe appears, The AntiSpank so now DS has to save all of SpankTopia by destroying 5 of the thongs in the Fires of Bacon. The quests are still ridiculous, and the characters are still over-the-top and funny, but the game still suffers from the bloating of the second title (also, the game sort of ends on a cliffhanger). There are also some new combat mechanics, like shield bash, perfect reflect and charged attacks, which freshen up the fights, but now enemies can feel unfair and overpowered, as you need to constantly use the new mechanics to get anywhere. Bosses also have unique mechanics, making fighting them a bit more tactical. All things considered, it's still a fun RPG, but it didn't do enough to make it feel all that different from the first 2 games, and the series kinda ran out of steam.

The Baconing is unfortunately not as polished as the first two games. With a worse targeting system and a pretty nauseting wobbly camera, it takes a bit of getting used to. The gameplay and story is still quite fun, and the levels are actually the best in the series. If you try this you should also know that crashes and corrupt saves still persist in this one too. Backup your saves often and put the game in windows 7 compatibility alongside with Vsync.

The humor is quiet good in this game, but the game itself is not fun to play. My rating 4/10, not recommended.

I played this on the XBox 360 back in the before times. It's a pretty entertaining action rpg that does not take itself seriously. Seems to run like complete garbage on my pc for whatever reason. Combat is decent, graphics kind've hold up, and the humor is... Well, I don't feel like it has aged all that well. Still, if it's on sale maybe consider it. Not sure it's still worth full price.
