i mean, the game is old and its a little clunky, even the anniversary edition. sometimes mouse clicks dont line up exactly right, which is annoying. half the puzzles are actual puzzles you might have to think about and write something down, the other half you can just click around for a while and solve it. then theres the can puzzle... that wasnt a puzzle at all. so theres that. i also didnt know if you checked the hint book more than twice it just skips the puzzle altogether, which is dumb. i didnt know know what i was looking at when it happened. worst of all "dont take all night" "we'll all be dead by the time you solve this" phrases get repeated when youre working on a puzzle... far too often i literally muted the voices twice because of this. cant suggest this, left the game running for a few hours, really would have rather spent time on something else.
Played for all 6 minutes, the mouse cursor doesn’t line up with what you want, during the cake puzzle I’d put the finger on the piece I wanted then it’d disappear and I’d have to move to the right for it to highlight the ones I was aiming at, awful, refunded after that, can’t play a game when the mouse cursor on screen doesn’t even do what you’re wanting it to do

This must have been a surprise in the year it was released. I can see it, 3D spooky house, with fun 3D spookiness abounding. Oooh!~~~ a ghost in the painting! Be warned, the puzzles are mostly like 'eh'. There's the piano one where you have to click over to a sequence of 171 piano keys in a row without missing or do it again. There's plenty of slide puzzle - but a twist! - now it's a harder more convoluted slide puzzle! /tile flip. There's chess puzzles! All in all it's not like there's that many puzzles altogether, but I found they were either nice and fun and kind of easy enough, or, more often, tedious and irritating (or purely a bit tame). I know there's a logic, but figuring it out seems an even bigger hassle than spending the 10 mins to an hour switching stuff over on intuition! Did not mostly like the puzzles, but felt guilty for the sentiment when the fun ones say hi. On the other hand, the music, theming, the visual style, and the voice acting pull up each puzzle into a worthy set piece even when said puzzle is not (most of the time) curious. Excellent music, by the way, the credits song is a classic (IMO). yyyyup. *thumbs up* Oh at some point loading a save didn't work for me in the anniversary version, but when I loaded autosave instead it did work, so oh well.
difficult puzzles and a great game for it's time.
There are games that stay over years...unfortunately, the 7th Guest aged badly. I played years ago, and it looked marvellous with the FMV scenes, on the old CRT monitor I had. I was young, and this kind of games looked sooo modern, with multiple CDs, true actors. Now, you can say anything bad about this game: the video resolution is poor, the puzzles are confusing (imho) and the story is pretty hard to understand clearly. But it has one thing it lacked in the original version: the italian subtitles!! So, if you felt missing a good slice of the game when you played the 7th Guest years ago, NOW it's the time to get this title and spend hours trying to solve difficult puzzles in the eerie Stauf's mansion! Ahahahahahahahahaha!
this game's puzzles and everything else sucks. i suffered through the entire game for the knife puzzle to not show up even after verifying I did all puzzles. i suffered for nothing.
Esse jogo é perfeito; é tudo o que tenho a dizer.
This game is good only if you play it with the free Legacy Edition DLC, something about the remaster removes the feel that the original version has. Still a good game if you enjoy puzzle games.
A good return to classic point and click gaming. Plays pretty well even on a banger of a system. Good puzzles that sometimes can be annoying in that way that puzzles usually are. But still good times.
