The 7th Guest: 25th Anniversary Edition

J'ai joué à The 11th Hour à l'époque et j'avais bien aimé. Un plaisir de découvrir 30 ans plus tard ce premier titre enfin en français.

I played this game around ...2001? Got as far as the pantry puzzle and was hooked. Unfortunately, after a house fire, homelessness and an unintentional homicide or three, I wasn't able to finish it. For 2.5 decades could never get it to work. It didn't like newer computers. I thought about the game a lot, as it inspired my love of "mystery" games. I've played/beaten all the Nancy Drews and Sherlock Holmeses and was STOKED to find this again on Steam. It's slow. The navigation leaves a lot to be desired. The constant interruptions to the gameplay with each voiceover make me want to rip my hair out. Some of the puzzles are way too easy and others ... I still don't know how I solved the house puzzle. You have to keep going back to check everything because things will appear randomly after cutscenes with no rhyme or reason. The story is well weird. But it's a great game. The nostalgia is hitting hard, so I could be biased, but my gerbil played and loved it too and that thing is like a week old, so I don't think it's *just* the trip down memory lane that makes it enjoyable. At any rate, it gave me something to do for the evening and it was only about ten bucks. I will probably replay it once I forget all the puzzle solutions. (PS: I don't have a gerbil and the housefire and etc didn't happen, but every other word of this review is true as far as I know. Have fun!)

Люди в игре- это призраки актеров или видеовставки FVM? Классический представитель квестов. Мы заперты в доме , полном загадок и не выйдем -из себя- из него , пока их все не решим. Сюжет нетривиален , в лучшем духе 90ых , но какой-то глубины или многогранности тут ждать не стоит. Лично мой опыт прохождение- это тыкаться в поисках чего-либо, затем решать головоломку и идти тыкаться дальше в поисках чего-либо. По сути , игра - это ,примерно, 20 загадок и их решение это весь геймплей , с небольшими видеовставками. Музыка радует. Хотелось бы купить саундтрек.

My dad let me help him with the puzzles when I was a kid and now I've experienced the full game. It was everything I dreamed it would be and utterly charming in a horrific way! I wish puzzle games were still as challenging and required actual puzzle skills. I loved 7th Guest, cheers!

If you like games like "The 7th guest" and "dark souls" you will like this game. Loved playing Billiards. [spoiler] Get boy Tad [/spoiler]

It's a good and fun puzzle game. My favorite part about it is the fact that it is not easy and hard on some short parts of the game. I would recommend it a lot if you have like 3 to 5 hours to spare.

Controls are a bit jank and the clues for how puzzles work could be clearer, but very much gave me the feeling of going through a haunted house. Quite fun!

This is a great game. I have played it for years, although I have not gotten very far with some of the puzzles. However, now I am having trouble loading it. I get to the menu, but when I click Load and select my name, i just get a black screen, and a dialog box says that The 7th Guest is not responding.

The game is extremely buggy and full of glitches. I do not remember having any problems with the game when it first came out 25 years ago, as a matter of fact it was my favorite game. Now it's frustrating as all hell.

i wanted to like this game. there is almost no context, and the puzzles are awful.
