Thank Goodness You're Here! is an absurd comedy slapformer set in the bizarre Northern English town of Barnsworth. As a traveling salesman, take the time to see the sights and meet the locals, who are very eager to give you a series of increasingly odd jobs…

Silly, adult, and uncomfortably British. Super basic gameplay with quirky animations and scenarios. It is well polished and a complete little package of goodness. A bit too expensive when not on sale though.
Worth full price
Wishlisted after liking the animation when the trailer dropped back in one of the showcases in 2023. The gameplay is simple where you are just walking around slapping objects in order to help solve the townsfolk's problems. Exploration is linear where you must complete certain tasks which moves you to the next area. There are only a handful of areas to explore so you'll repeatedly be looped back to the starting area with new things to interact with. The humor is the main highlight with moments ranging from whimsical silliness to the darkly absurdness which kept me amused throughout.
That last sequence in the game reminded me of Don't Hug Me I'm Scared.
I'm not from the UK so there are some jokes in here that went over my head but are more appreciated if you grew up there. It's overall a fun short comedic game to spend a single night playing. Achievement wise it's easy to complete if you went out of your way to interact with every single thing. I got the majority of them on my first blind run but there are some achievements you can miss if you get ahead of yourself accidentally triggering moments that move you to the next area.
Slapstick comedy galore, oodles of absurd British humor, and Matt Berry on voice duty. Also, the artwork slaps and so does the protagonist. Literally. Perhaps a bit short for its (full) asking price, so best to grab it on sale and enjoy an evening of roaring belly laughs.
