-Horrible optimization -Looks like complete ♥♥♥♥ compared to literally any other modern racing game -Took me 20 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minutes just to link a Nacon account because their system is a total mess and verification emails weren't even going through -DualSense support is absolute garbage too Don't waste your money.
Playing this game is like watching your favourite pub that you've been going to for decades burn down. I loved TDU1 and 2, but this has taken the TDU DNA and thrown it out the window. It feels like an underdeveloped cash grab with poor optimisation, poor support and infuriating gameplay. Genuinely a missed opportunity and definitely killled the franchise for good. Given its a TDU game, my expectations where not high (weird physics, cheesy dialogue, awkward loading screens), but this fell substantially shorf of my already low expectations. Do not buy. Specific problems: Clunky gameplay Drivatar difficulty is just weird Crashes and bugs Grinding mechanics Awkward loading screens at weird times Always online (inc races) Boring map. Races are same with no real changes or excitement

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

For $10 I figured I'd give it a try. Somehow it runs worse than the beta when the game first came out. How does a 2 year old game still crash multiple times on the first race? Its not like I have a potato PC. Refunding, not even worth $10, still.
Dont you dare to buy it
At the moment of writing this review, 26/07/2026, I can not recomend this game in the current state. I know about the negative reception of this game but as someone who enjoyed both other TDU games I decided to bite the bullet and get in while it was on sale. However the issues with this game with my 2 hours of playing are enough to advise anyone interested in it to pass for now. It started with the first cutscene after creating my character where there were textures glitching out and all I could see was a giant black alien ball thing which also ended with the cutscene freezing and having to use task manager to end the proccess. But even when I made it through the tutorial I have been plagued with constant freezes. Some happen withing 10 minutes others within 30 minutes but all of them result in the game freezing/locking up but still hearing the radio in the background. I've tried updating my drivers, verifiying my files, lowering my graphic settings, turning off any form of upscaling, turning off frame generation, even turning off my microphone and putting the default voice chat section on group (read some post that said to do that) but to no avail. I can't even get to the real meat that this game has to offer because of it. So as of right now this game, to me, is unplayable and should be avoided at all costs. If this ever gets fixed, which I doubt, and I find the urge to play it again I will update my review but right now it is a big fat NO to the question if this is a worthy but
Soo TDU Solar Crown. This one gets alot of hate ... but i believe in its current state (with the big world rework in season 5) with all its content it definately has a spot beside all the other games of this genre! It does many things that others dont even think of - and it does it pretty good! Like you can drive uber with dynamicaly generated missions and rarities (really cool feature). The handling on a wheel is pretty decent too! It even has matching rotation lock (aka putting the game on 540 degree on a 900 degree wheel locks at 540 degree so you cant oversteer into nothing) and force feedback is decent too! Cars sound good - even simulating windows up/down sounds in cockpit! Performance is not great but absolutely playable and enjoyable with nearly no stutters at around 60 fps on a lower end gpu using dlss. What was not good was the first hour of fiddling around from account creation (took too long to get the verification email) to searching for driving assist adjustments (under cars?!). But overall its not a bad game! What i dont understand though is their price increase for season passes with season 7 in about a month. This game needs no price increases - it needs a soft reset (making past season rewards all available including the pre-order car) and stop fomo! They have to make it easier for new players to give it a shot - and not to give them more reasons to stay away! If the devs come around and season 7 hitting good - this can absolutely have its comeback! Recommended on deep sale like right now! Go get in here :-)
I really wanna love this title, however this game is still so poorly optimized that the only way it'll look good is if you max out the settings which then will turn your room into a sauna. You can lower the settings but then the game will look washed out and it gets a lot of ghosting and latency due to frame gen plus your PC still gets fairly hot (69c). It's a shame cuz the game does a lot of little things right like you gotta earn the cars in your garage, the world is a wonder to cruise around in and explore, the sense of speed is better than any other racer I've played, races are fairly challenging, the rewards aren't outrageous low or high and there's no wheelspin. I love the little interaction you can do like using the indicators, roll the windows and top down, actually enter the dealership, pop the hood, open the doors and the best part, test drive the car before buying! (All car games needs this) And then you pick the color, interior and rims, again it's all simple things that does a ton to make each and every purchase feel special. One last thing, I really love how you tap the accelerator just once to turn on the car, hear it roar or beeb (EV) in all its glory and if you tap it again it will move along slowly like an actual car would. For most ppl this might sound stupid but for a car dweep like myself this is friggin legendary! One Minus for me is that you can't use the carputer in the interior view as navigation like you could in TDU2 and then there's the obvious lag of lifestyle sim like no crips to buy and the casino straight up sucks with only slot machines to play with. But I'll be real here, I can forgive those shortcomings. Sure they all suck but they aren't gamebreaking flaws.. the optimization however is. And that is unfortunately why I can't recommend this title. It's heartbreaking really.
