Awesome game that has a realistic driving fealing. At this point, I highly recommend.
As of now I can't enjoy this game. I hope the developers figure out their game engine one day. Seems the big issue is tying ping to FPS. Obviously I enjoyed 46 hours of this game before they changed the game framework. I highly recommend the game, if it works on your setup or once they fix the engine.
I thought I would try it since it was so cheap at 9.99, but the game's optimization is awful even with frame gen and DLSS performance with a 4080 super I barely got 70FPS. The driving feels like an Asphalt mobile game knock off. The graphics also do not justify how bad it runs. Avoid the game unless it's literally free to keep.
Schade drum
I'm really pleasantly surprised. It's actually pretty fun. Introduction is weak, graphics are so-so and optimization is pretty bad (Luckily I was able to brute-force past it with my computer), but in my opinion the star of the game are the cars and the driving model. I've been having a lot of fun just driving around the island, driving a few races here and there and just been enjoying throwing cars around the corners with the game's simcade-physics. It's honestly really fun. If KT still would manage to bring the game fully offline before finishing the development for future-proofing the game past its' own servers, I would be pretty happy where the game is now.
TLDR: Nothing special but not awful like 38% positive would lead you to believe First of all, I haven't played older Test Drive games and I am coming fresh off of ~200 hours of Forza Horizon 6. Optimization is terrible but i'm able to get ~70 frames consistently after playing with my settings at 4k and i'm happy enough with how it looks. Visually while I'm driving it reminds me of crackdown 3 which is not as bad as I was expecting from some of the other reviews, not to say its good though. Lots of cutscenes so far with all of the characters looking like wax figures, sounding out of place, and with stilted and off-putting animation to match. Driving physics are as expected from other KT games very responsive and fun on controller, arcade style handling but not the kind where you will be drifting every corner. The way the camera swings with the car helps it to feel even more responsive than it already would. Impressed with the size of the map and the fact that there are licensed cars. Being able to open the windows and play with other controls like that through the radial menu is a nice touch especially for photos. I like how much customization there is but the amount/price of micro-transactions and elements that are just there to keep you grinding every day do feel like overkill in a game i'm primarily looking at as a single player campaign experience. I'm sure i'd be especially uncomfortable with them if I paid closer to full price, but I also understand that this is being ran more like an MMO and I respect that they need to make money to keep supporting the game, it's servers, and especially keep paying for those licenses from car manufacturers. So far happy with this for $10. Might not be as happy when I want more cars.
