This was awesome and exactly as advertised. Cute, creative, and simple. I'd love to see more unique props but other than that, great game. I want more castles! :)
Nice relaxing game, music can be annoying i think, but otherwise nice props and stuff to work with, and future updates could add more. I saw a review saying controls are hard to use but if you go to advanced mode you can slow them down making it easier. For a small independent dev, this game is quite nice. Would recommend. Edit: Would be nice if there was a terrain painter, so rather than having to choose one soil for the whole thing, we could paint it in different ones.
Terrarium describes itself as: “Cozy fires, books, and tiny glass bottles filled with endless possibilities. In Terrarium, make your vision a reality and craft the cozy dioramas you've always dreamed of. The only question is, what will you build first?” It’s a game tagged as sandbox, building, cozy, and design & illustration—perfectly setting the tone for what players can expect. The game lets you create anything you can imagine within the confines of a little bottle, and the possibilities feel endless. The graphics are charmingly cute, and the overall experience is incredibly relaxing once you get the hang of it. However, the controls might feel a bit tricky at first. There’s a learning curve to figuring out how to navigate and design, but once you get used to them, the payoff is rewarding—you can craft some truly beautiful and creative dioramas. If you're someone who enjoys games that inspire creativity and offer a calming atmosphere, Terrarium is definitely worth a try. It’s the kind of game where your imagination is the only limit. I cannot wait to see what comes next!
This game is really cute and creative! However, I find the keyboard commands difficult and frustrating. Maybe it's just me, but trying to place items is more work than necessary. If the game used both mouse and keyboard, that would be awesome! Lovely game, but I can't recommend because of the controls alone.
sadly not really fun. it angers me alot tbh. hard to move around and place things and every thing is locked and it dont tall you how to unlock things
Building a scene in a bottle is really fun, great game. The controls can be a little odd at first, but I found that changing the keybinds on a couple things made the game play a lot better. I also really liked the gridless building, it gives you a lot of freedom to be creative and make any scene that you want.
Been looking for a game like this! Great for late nights when I just want to relax and be creative. Just started playing and the controls are easier to learn when you have the key binds pinned from clicking the "i" in the top left corner. <---- Pro tip..I am excited to see if they continue to add more content!
I REALLY wanted to give this cozy game a shot, but it just fell short. The controls are not intuitive, so starting the game is difficult in itself. There is not a grid system, but getting things to scale and snap properly is nearly impossible. There are not a lot of decor options and despite following the criteria, I was not able to unlock anything past the starter building tools. Also, not really sure what the point of the "play" mode is- as you cannot edit in play mode anyways. I'd say it has potential atleast.
Overall a nice and relaxing break from high stress shooters and rpgs. It's fun to arrange the bottles and see what kind of scenes you can set up. The music and creative pieces really bring a nice charm to the game that gets lost with other large titles, sometimes the best things in life are simple but allow you to show off whats in your mind. Terrarium is definitely something that checks those boxes and I look forward to spending a lot more time in it when I'm just looking to relax.
I was a little uncertain at first because the controls are a puzzle in themselves! (But a fun one if you have patience). I was feeling a little bummed out that I couldn't really change my view of what I had built. Then, I saw the "Play" button and was transported to inside the bottle! That was the best part-- exploring what I created!
