About
High Above is a relaxing sandbox game about creating your dream rooftop hideaways!

Design your own elevated retreat, high above the city's noise. Turn an empty rooftop into a dreamy getaway - whether it’s a sunlit Mediterranean courtyard, a sleek modern terrace, a minimalistic Japanese rooftop garden, or a sci-fi hacker hideout. And as you build and decorate, watch as life unfolds - day turns into night, a stray cat strolls in the sun, and birds land for a quick bite.
Build the foundation of your rooftop retreat and shape it just the way you like. Tweak the scale and position of each structure to fit your vision. Whether you’re crafting a single peaceful hideaway or placing multiple buildings to form a cozy little scene, the layout is entirely up to you. Let your creativity guide the skyline!
Decorate your dream rooftops with a wide variety of charming details - from windows, balconies, and moldings to plants and glowing lanterns. Choose from a selection of materials to match your style, whether you’re going for modern minimalism or rustic charm. Add a personal touch with furniture and decor - set up a futuristic PC station, create a warm and cozy reading nook, or build a tranquil space to watch the stars. It’s your hideaway - make it uniquely yours.
If you’re in the mood for a gentle challenge, you can also take on optional mini-missions from visitors who dream of their own rooftop escape. Each of the four themes features three light missions where you create a rooftop retreat based on someone’s personal wishes - from a cozy reading nook to a peaceful Zen garden. Work at your own pace, build within a limited budget, and unlock unique decorative items to use across all your builds.

Take a breath.
No timers. No stress. Just your own quiet corner in the clouds.

I already tried the High Above demo, but the full game is a really nice, relaxing experience. The buildings are highly customizable.. you can adjust their height and width, add antennas and AC units on rooftops, and even place AC units on walls. I’ve played many sandbox games, from Cities: Skylines to Cloud Gardens, and I’ve got to say this is good 😆👍
THE SKY AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
Most sandbox builders end up pushing you toward something. Bigger builds, better layouts, more efficiency... But High Above lets all of that go. You’re not here to optimise, you’re here to place one light, then another, and watch something quiet take shape. You build rooftop spaces "floating" in the sky, choosing from European, Japanese, modern, and futuristic settings. There’s no pressure in the sandbox. You place objects, adjust lighting, and slowly bring your space together. Somewhere along the way, time disappears. There is a light structure here, though. Each setting includes small challenges where characters ask for specific rooftop designs within a set budget. Sometimes you’re balancing more than one request at once, trying to make something that works for everyone. It reminded me a little of SimCity, just on a much smaller, more personal scale. The atmosphere does a lot of the heavy lifting - there's soft music that never cuts out, the option to bring in rain, and a gorgeous sky that shifts through warm colours as your build slowly comes to life. It’s easy to sit and play for hours without noticing. For the right player, this is a space you’ll keep returning to. This game is so Cozy! So many details you could add to the buildings, having fun with the cyberpunk theme even though its experimental still! 100% recommend this to anyone that is looking to vibe and build
I am over the moon, eyes filled w/tears bc of the beauty in this game spent what felt like a couple of hours today working w/the japanese theme and I got my zen back my soul filled up so much I could barely keep playing if you're looking for a game to help you, release the stress and worry, let you get lost for an hour or 2, this is the game if I had a million dollars I would gift this to the whole world that is stressed and struggling rn this is your happy place you have found it... don't hesitate to buy caveat: just released so minor bugs here and there but too beautiful and relaxing not to buy note: while my hours with full release are small, I logged 112.9 hours beforehand on the demo testing different types of builds and 13.6 hours on the playtest now we can save our builds so that means folks like me that make extensive builds can save and come back later to check for errors, finish up, take photos to share, etc this game is so amazing on so many levels and we got another update this morning our dev is on top of things and I'm so happy I found his game got a chance to take a good look this morning and I'm so wowed by all the new content, the interface, and so many other things I see mind completely blown! I had high hopes for high above but I never dreamed the beauty, options, and interesting props I'd see we also got our first post-release update! wish I could gift the whole world a copy of this amazing game fantastic game, community, and dev! so happy to see it finally released a lot of time and hard work went into high above community feedback is a big part of it and the dev really listens to ideas and suggestions for future includes
Absolutely awesome little gem that only got better after a great demo version. From gameplay perspective it's just nice when you turn on the game and you're instantly "in", with just pure creative vibes from the get-go. Incredibly satisfying experience when after just a few clicks you have a chill, cozy rooftop with people, plants, furniture and all little details that make this space "yours". Great stuff!
On the surface its just my type of game, Build and Decorate, The artstyle is great, the music is ok and the over all vibe of the game is neat. So why am i not recommending it? A few reasons; *Things dissapere/change size betwen sessions. Comming back and half of the stuff I placed are gone/moved place/way too big or small. * Nothing from the devs. There are no answers from the devs in the forum on what this could be or when a fix is planned. * A lack of unique items. Its a shame because again, I really wanna like this game, but placing the same book/plant/bottle AGAIN make the builds kinda blur together. The over all impression is that it comes off a bit lackluster and I really hope I am in the wrong feeling that the devs are ignoring the players. Would love to change my rewiev when the game get some updates and solves the most glaring issues. I would say buy it on sale for a few h of fun, just dont count on your deigns staying put.
This is a nice and chill designing game. At the moment, it has 4 themes to choose from, and you can be as creative as the game allows it. The choice for items and furniture is somewhat limited, but I don't see that as a bad thing where a lot of designing games can give you decision paralysis sometimes with the number of items you can use. You can edit size and colour on certain items available. The buildings also have quite a few editing options in regard to shape, size, colour, texture, and more. Sort of has similar vibes to another designing/sandbox game that I played called "Tiny Glade" only this is more about building and decorating rooftops. I've only played a couple of hours of it at the time of this review, but I look forward to jumping back in for more chill designing vibes.
Relaxing ≠ boring It's not bad-BAD, but it's limited. It feels like a demo. If it were in early access, it might be tolerable, but that's not the case. There are other, better games with a similar premise.
