As a veteran UNIX sysadmin of both old and new (before they change my job title to "DevOps"), I really like this game. It's an accurate portrayal of, well, my dayjob and (unfortunately) my hobby. A lot of people don't realize that, in a lot of ways, we don't know what we're doing and the only way forward is to explore and slowly gain a better understanding through bruteforce and past experiences. The reality is: You only get better by spending more time tinkering with the machine. This game replicates that feeling really well in a package that (I hope) is approachable to people who don't possess the arcane ability of reading text/runes on a screen. The only thing in my wishlist: In terms of the command line experience, I kinda wish it replicates more OpenVMS/DCL than a Unix-like since to me (a unix guy), that's alien technology :D ... or something akin to FORTH interpreters (like OpenFirmware on old Apples/SUNs/IBMs) or IOS CLI found in Cisco (and non-Cisco) networking equipment or (if you really want to suffer) JCLs from mainframes. Then again, 20 years down the line, I think people will look at UNIX and be confused why they're not just writing YAML files and deploy what's written on them.
i want to die. BUY THIS GAME
The gameplay is more like doing pentest, than fixing dependency hell. You get to gather information, elevate your privilege, and gain access to yet another part of the network. The experience is very immersive, yet it is alien enough that it doesn't feel like work or education. I felt like I'm penetrating into a soviet lab in the 80's. The tech feels foreign but real! I'm pleasantly surprised. The game description is not doing its job. This game is not about fixing dependency hell. 10/10 This is a hidden gem
is gud
This is such an incredible niche game that I'm so glad got made and would deserve more eyes on. If you are at all into the puzzle aspect of computer science and operations, this is the perfect game for you. It also have genuine open puzzle moment where you solve things in way that feel out of the box from what was expected. It got some small shortcoming (I would recommend disabling autosave and manual save after long work, copy the save file to avoid having to redo everything if you ever crash the game computer. Also the very end is in my opinion a bit needlessly grindy and just not interesting busy work) but this is such a niche game that it's already a miracle this got made, and so well, at all. And worth playing it 100%
I was unable to even get to the mid game but the game is as promised. no handholding, not even docs. 10/10 for what it is Edit: watching a walkthrough and this game is WAYYY more wild than the things I have managed to discover, 12/10
This game is clearly well-made and it's quite fun.

kind of hard to get into, but that's the point. not for the faint of heart, but very fun if you like coding and problem solving :-)
