About
Terfenstein 3D is a first-person shooter game with a retro style from the early '90s. Consider it a creative iteration mix of Wolfenstein 3D and Doom 1. You will be progressing through seven levels of increasing difficulty and complexity with a set of six classical weapons arsenal and five traditional enemies.
The game offers queer, transgender, and feminist themes of gender-critical people and what a post-war apocalyptic world would look like if gender fascists won. In this dystopian world, fascists have killed and imprisoned all transgender and queer people, subjecting them to harsh conversion therapy, imprisonment, and death. You play as an escapee fleeing their detention center, while you exact your revenge.
This game brings to light the very real transphobic violence many transgender people face for just existing. And draw a comparison between gender critics and nazi Germany.
Developed over four months, this solo project is one of many controversial games the developer has made. Being able to artistically express yourself is a proven way to heal trauma and possibly also move on. This game also hopes to achieve that for players who need it through gameplay that would stir up hidden and muddied emotions.
Please take care of yourself and your loved ones.

Better than the wizard game
i was raped and this is my game
cis people's feelings go brrrrrrrrrrr. very sad!
based would be nice to see some simple quality of life things added; for example the walking speed is a bit painfully slow, it would be nice for there to be a sprint option. a map screen, some more levels, maybe some better audio quality music and sfx would be nice
Sound didn't work for me but that may be my system and it didn't really bother my enjoyment. The gameplay is fun, the guns are pretty good and the difficulty feels alright. I wish this game had more assets and was more explicit, but I understand that this was made by litterally one person. This is a good idea though and the game is fun. Worth a buy, especially if it's on sale.
Um, wow. This was great. I can't tell exactly what it was programmed with, maybe Unity, likely Blender, could have been tcl, but the style is of early Wolfenstein, down to the ray-casting see-through walls and 1.5 forward+side movement speed, as well as some doors being open and still blocking bullets. There was a programming book, on how to make a 3D game like Wolfenstein, using the same techniques of ray-casting and more efficient use of radians from an array instead of calculating in the game (precious cpu cycles back in the 33MHz days were needed for drawing). I read through it, deciding not to make my own since Wolfenstein already existed and Doom was a much improved engine. I missed some secrets, because they were very well hidden, missed some items, I think due to the ray-casting missing them therefore not rendering them. I killed every single terf-n*zi in there, though. Whew what a mess. I was almost hoping for a final big boss, likely a cishet white male terf, but none can match the original big boss murderer in recent history of LGBTQIA+, blacks, and Jews. You know who I'm talking about. Thank you, Sandra. I hope you're doing well <3
People who say this game is offensive probably try to defend the Moon Man mod
Anyone who hates this game saying "you wouldn't let it be the other way around" are missing the point. The game itself is fun, if a little buggy.
I love it so far. I expected to not like it much as I'm a casual player tbh and have little patience for games that challenge me too much. I find it rather easy. The game runs very smoothly, it's pretty and the soundtrack rocks. I've had a lot more fun than I expected to have on a joke game. I saw a player criticize that the health items only give back 1HP each. I wouldn't make them give more HP tbh. or maybe halve the number of them and then set them at 2 HP? I'd rather just increase the collision box of the item so it would be easier to pick up and that's it. I also saw the criticism that the movement speed is too slow. I agree with that sentiment. Also, pressing the space bar inside of menus seems to exit the game. I saw a player criticizing this game for saying it compares cis women to nazis. It does not. The game itself doesn't even provide the information in plain text but it's in the name: TERFenstein. It's about TERFs, not just any cis women, only explicitly militant transphobic women which happen to often be found to have links with nazis and the far-right. Some of the elements reinforcing this point are the Sufragette Flag which appears in game and is used by "gender critical" women and the 2X chromosomes replacing the swastikas, which I thought at first were a reference to the movie The Great Dictator by Charlie Chaplin. Maybe it's supposed to be a double-reference. This user then proceeded to criticize the line "This game brings to light the very real transphobic violence many transgender people face for just existing. And draw a comparison between gender critics and nazi Germany." I will agree that this game in itself doesn't do that. However, this line comes after this "In this dystopian world, fascists have killed and imprisoned all transgender and queer people, subjecting them to harsh conversion therapy, imprisonment, and death. You play as an escapee fleeing their detention center, while you exact your revenge." Conversion therapy is something that is suported by gender critical, some gender critical support genocide, accuse trans people of illegal paraphilias the same way gays used to be accused of that, trans people do occasionally also suffer from hate crimes and need I say: many countries just outright punish being trans with the death sentence. So while the death sentence is not quite a thing for being trans (Florida really tried very recently) in western country, the hate crimes happen and are actually on the rise. This game doesn't really bring light on these things. It does however compare the gender critics to nazis and it is fair, as before rising to power the nazis did accuse their targets of degeneracy, deviant tendencies and crimes. The targets of the nazis were also innocent people who committed the heinous act of just wanting to live their lives freely, and for that they were punished. The nazis actually also targeted transgender people back in the day (see Institut für Sexualwissenschaft). And considering how some GCs are very close or openly far-right, I think it is not unreasonable to think that if they were in power they would actually do the same, or at least certainly not opposite. Therefore, this game and its author have a legitimate reason to draw this comparison. So yeah, great game, I'm having actual fun playing it.
100% fatalities, baby.
