When SATANISTS kill your family and your beloved congregation watcha gonna do other than to KILL THEM back? This cheek ain't doing any turning till the job gets done!
A decent, above-average boomer shooter. I recently picked it up for a few cents in a Fanatical bundle, and for that price it was absolutely worth it. I also played REVEREND (published by DOSMan as well), and I have to say this game is a bit better overall. There’s greater weapon variety, more enemy types, more locations, and - most importantly - a longer playtime. You can finish this game in about three hours, whereas REVEREND was only around an hour long. I especially liked the fact that every single location has its own unique atmosphere, which made the experience much more immersive. The only real downside is the lack of Steam achievements, which could have made the time spent playing feel a bit more rewarding. So yeah, if you’re feeling nostalgic and want to play a casual boomer shooter, S*TAN is a solid option. (Edit: I had to add an asterisk in the game's title since Steam consors this word, lol!) 6.5/10
Typical Dosman shovelware, be it published by them or made by them. It's also another EFPSE game, the RPG Maker of the fps genre. The game is very basic, has questionable hitboxes, barely any settings, playing at high resolutions crops the UI, scrolling through weapons is broken and often gives you a random weapon instead of the previous/next one, levels are neither interesting nor intricate and bosses are bad and barely pose a challenge. The genre has become too oversaturated to spend money on these copypasta games
had almost no health and moved to the next part of the level crated a respawn point as it dropped me into a sewer and i died. stuck in an endless loop https://youtu.be/Z8Fu6eZvUqw
SATAN: 100% COMPLETION REVIEW

If you love completing games, take a look at our curator site.

All hail SATAN. What a banger from DOSman this game is. My favorite game of this developer! And I'll risk saying its their magnum opus. This was a hell of a blast, killing demons and usurping SATAN himself, or choosing godhood, which is both possible endings. It's a pretty short boomer shooter with the usual gameplay of the genre, with an amazing Metal soundtrack that has riffs worthy of being in a band's album. I went in with the expectation of this being nothing but a Blood homage, and it completely blew me away, it's actually not. Incredible. It's also commendable how the game gets better and better, with level design quality increasing with each map. When I saw this had no achievements, my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined.
I didn't love the other two games I played published by DosMan Games, but I have to say that this was a much better experience so I'm happy to leave a review. It has a few issues, to be sure: 1) When you pick up an item, the flash is too bright and too long, and it's particularly jarring when you pick up a few in a row; 2) When you go to the confessional, understandably, you heal back to 100. But if in the meanwhile you got over that, as you can reach 150, that sets you back to 100, which creates a really odd feeling where when you are over 100 you avoid healing items as you might actually end up worse off - I can't remember I saw this in any other game and like the previous point I think it's easily fixable. 3) The framerate is not really stable at 60FPS even if GPU usage is very low, and you can get lost in the geometry sometimes, but I think these are limitations of the engine used and one can live with it. In 4 hours of play (not bad for the price at all, and much longer than the two other games from the same publisher) I had to restart the game a few times as quite randomly the framerate dips in the 20s and it just stays there until you restart the game, probably some bug with the engine maybe caused by garbage collection, resource management, or something along these lines. What really matters is that the game is fun and it's a well coherent project, and it has character. Just be advised it's quite hard so quick save is your friend.
