Tenshu General, is a simple, elegant, Real Time Strategy (RTS) game for those who favor short play sessions over long sessions. Quick casual game play combined with the challenge of continuously adapting enemies allow for a surprisingly challenging exercise in strategy. It is a cross breed between a board game and a classic RTS.

Time Killer. Lost 4 hrs like nothing in order to complete first general campaign(I think there is 4 at this moment?). Price is correct. The difference between this game and RISK it that this game is in real time and does not depend on the probability factor. Interface is good, and simple. Multiplayer would be very competetive. The game creates challange. You will not sit, reflex and strategise. You also will have just enough time to react. Strategy logic is simple and yet, the key factor is how fast you respond. I would recommend this game if you whant to kill some time without noticing. Good product for the first day of steam release. Good luck!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3SFPDzJWsQ I enjoyed what I played, the game is nothing special but sticks to basics and for what it does - it does it extremely well. If you're expecting a lot from this game you will be left dissapointed but I don't mean this in a bad way. It's a very simple game which teaches you the ropes very well. I would recommend it to people looking for a simple RTS/Strategy game and people who are a great fan of the game RISK. I love these games so much so I had no problem fully enjoying this game. I would not recommend it to people who are looking for something mindblowingly awesome, Unique or innovative. I have attached my 20 minute preview as I find it difficult to put my words into text :) hope this helps! I recommend this game though, love it!
It's not RTS. It's not even a strategy. It's Benny Hill Simulator in Japan setting. Don't get me wrong, but:

This is kinda Galcon Fusion with ruined gameplay
You're limited to four armies, so get prepared to jump with these armies for hours
I'm not joking; if there's more than two enemies on the map, the battle can last forever. YES, forever!
What's the problem? the problem is, you have maximum four armies and you'll be jumping over the map with another bunch of armies (to be precise, another twelve ones if you're fighting against three generals) capturing and losing villages until after a hour of jumping you'll be lucky enough to destroy enemies capitals.
Oh, the game crashes constantly when new battle starts. To be honest, I'm writing this review just after this masterpiece crashed once again.
It's not even a game. It's a parody to a game. It's buggy, it's unsupported, it's unplayable, it's abandoned.
2 out of 10 dead Japan Generals
A very thin RTS. Repetitous with little to do except to build up your villages and armies as swiftly as possible. Typically you build a strong defensive line, wait until your economy can quickly replace any battle loses, then rapidly move forward in an offensive. Rinse and repeat. You do have different units and village improvements that you can choose from, But unlike good RTS games where careful selection and planning is necessary, the units and improvements in this game are so vanilla that it makes little difference what you choose. Just fill up your army and village slots and get moving. It all feels more or less like some kind of a weird race or puzzle game. I guess there may be some satisfaction in winning a particular scenario in record time. But I found the whole exercise tedious and boring.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTxQd6zY6F8 This is a summary of my review video, which I encourage you to watch if you are looking for a more in-depth review. Tenshu General is a casual simple real time strategy game set in feudal Japan where you play as a General of an army defending your own territory and expanding and battling to conquer other territories. There is music that plays for the opening menu that is of that time in history and culture. I believe that it would have been beneficial to have that music continue during the actual gameplay, as it would have added to the atmosphere and immersion to the game, instead of the silence or marching of troops that is the games only sounds during gameplay. The graphics are simple, but it fits to the gameplay and mechanics that the game promotes. There have been a few crashes in my gameplay, but the progress I lost was minimal, and the devs are active in trying to fix any issues. It is clear from their activity on Steam and personally that they care about this game. The game has a fair bit of content for the price they are asking, Each campaign is fast paced, and is centered around strategic, military and money management. You can upgrade tools, farming, and livestock to increase your resources. You have a max of four armies that you can upgrade, each of which need to be replenished after you engage in battle. It would have been nice to be able to replenish entire armies instead of individual troops as a lot of my time was spent micro-managing each army, as it pulled me out of the enjoyment of the game. It becomes a delicate balance between grabbing up available land in the beginning, then harassing enemies in a give and take scenario to keep them from expanding their territories into yours. You are fighting on different fronts, and you are at the mercy of the slow map movement before you can assess how you have progressed. The game is simplistic, but overall it works out fairly well. I felt that it respected my time, and was enjoyable. The slow reaction time did pull me out of immersion a bit, but overall the game was fairly balanced. This is an easy recommend. If you stay on top of the game, and make the right decisions, you'll win for sure! But if you don't have a strategy, or just do random moves, you'll get rekt! Looks deceivingly easy, but there is more to it than meets the eye!
Pretty "meh". Same gameplay as games like Galcon Fusion, not really an RTS.
Extremely Basic RTS War Game https://youtu.be/1f17hJGNpKk + The strategic elements are good in certain aspects, like Archers do better in mountain terrain + Pretty fast paced, you have to go fast to keep up with the computer and make intelligent decisions about when to attack and where. - Overly simplistic making the game feel boring after a short amount of time. [Build unit, capture territories, up rice production, build more units, win] - No animations or any visual display of what is happening. - Automated battles that do not really tell you who has the advantage. - You can not cancel or redirect units if you accidentally send them to the wrong place - No option to stop the time, and time keeps going even while viewing action reports - The campaign is more or less a tutorial and series of "challenges" that get boring quickly - The story is pretty poor, and the game does a pretty low-end job of keeping the story interesting or relevent to what is happening. - Castle Defenses are TOO STRONG and the AI continuously rebuilds them each time you try to attack. There's no siege weapons either, so you basically need full max armies attacking at the same time to win the game which can drag the match out for quite a while.
I am a strategy gamer, so games like this are usually my thing. Not this one though. The game has the basic mechanics of a strategy game (e.g. some units are better in some areas than others) but the word basic is already exaggerating things in this case... there is no experience, there is no building defenses or bases, there are only thrre unit types and three terrain types and most dramatically: There is a limit to 4 armies, no matter how many resources you have, it's four armies with limited strengt and no special abilities. Did I mention that the game is also real time? In this case this is a problem since there are the limitations mentioned above. Just imagine: You are fightin 3 enemies on a map. Your lands have no defenses, only your armies and every one of them has 4 armies... all armies can only be brought up to a certain stength which is quiet easily achieved even early in the game... and then the manouvering starts... I capture province X, then on to province Y, computer B captures X... pfff... so I turn around and recaputer X, while player C caputres Y from me again... and this continues and continues until all you do is frantically sending out your 4 armies and clicking on the armies after a battle to refill their ranks. As I said: Resources are not a problem usually... and should you manage to get into the vicinity of an enemy castle... forget capturing that even with a maxed out army! You will be able to destroy two or three defensive walls of the castle, which cost about as much as your cheapest soldier unit and in 5 seconds the computer will have rebuilt that while you are still clicking on your army and buying replacement soldiers for the second attack... The game is "Whoever clicks the fastest wins!" Oh well, it had potentiall but what is there now is just the bare bones of a strategy game.
