I haven't played this game very much but I really don't need more than 5 minutes to determine that this game is really not for me. First off, you're probably wondering what the hell Tengutana is. You read the description and it sounds interesting. Well it's not really that interesting. You basically start out in the level with this floating Tengu head (a tengu is a type of long-nosed Japanese demon known for trickery). In front of you is a box with a glowing ball on it. next to the glowing box on the ground is a "put soul here" marker... or maybe it says spirit...I forget now. Either way, the glowing ball is the soul/spirit and you have to cut the box with your sword in such a way that the ball falls directly into the pad with the least number of cuts possible. If this still sounds interesting, you're weird. I mean, I'm all for puzzle games, and physics based puzzle games can be fun, but the problem is that how well you can solve the puzzle is tied directly to how good the physics engine is and how accurately you can manipulate things in that environment. So how is the physics engine? Not terribly good. Swinging swords feels hollow/empty with zero feedback to make you feel like you're swinging anything other than your arms around. Cutting the boxes similarly doesn't feel like you're doing anything. Either you hit the box and nothing happens, or you barely seem to touch the box and a slice appears going all the way through the box at whatever angle the blade happened to be pointing. It's hit or miss... I guess I never miss huh? (^^) Seriously though, that's most of the game right there. They also add some stone blocks that you can't obviously chop through so for these you use your sword like a bat to nudge/push the stone out of the way. Again, your success in getting the orb to drop where it's supposed to will feel more like luck and less like you solved a puzzle. There's also some shuriken throwing but so far as I can tell, all it's used for is as a way to change your character's size in relation to everything else. Throw a shuriken at the tengu head and you become a giant. Throw it again and you're back to normal size. Anyway, the puzzles were lame, the game wasn't fun, and I wouldn't recommend you buy it even if you got it for a dime...It's not the worst VR game on steam, but it's hardly all that great either. I think this is one of those games I got in a bundle with 10 other games for $3.

An Ok puzzle game where you cut boxes and posts to get a white ball in the target zone. It's ok for what it is, pretty much a phone game in VR. Still, for $4.00, there seems to be a fair number of puzzles, not my thing but nor is hammering nails into my skull but some seem to like it.
2 Minute Video Review → https://youtu.be/OkgIZbSdQ5w A solid "get the ball into the goal" puzzler with a samurai twist. It's satisfying to use the swords to slice objects, but to solve some of the puzzles you'll need to be very precise, so there's a bit of a learning curve. Well made, and a good value for the price.
fine puzzle game, lot of gameplay for little money
The game is essentially a casual puzzle game with a fun concept, whereby you cut boxes to get a ball to the finishing line. It has a fun cartoony visual style, the concept's well executed, and its clearly a project the developer has put a fair amount of time into. Also, I have to give major props to the developer, since my previous review of this game, calling it unplayable due to a visual bug, was up for only a few minutes before they contacted me and hotfixed the specific issue I had been having. Very well done.
Extremely fun, original physics puzzle game. The physics of dicing things up with your sword feels very accurate and satisfying. The price is more than fair for the amount of content you get. The dev handled all of my bug complaints within a day. Every time I thought I was going to get bored with the puzzles, the game introduced a new element to keep it interesting. Buy it already!
Wow how this game has improved! When I first played it it was a cool concept but the the mechanics were still being worked on I guess and the puzzles weren't as good. But now the game is really optimized, the controls feel right, and the puzzles are challenging and it uses physics well. Plus for a VR game that runs well for the price it's a steal. A thumbs up from a Rift user.
Grafiklere bakın birde utanmadan VR cihazı istiyor. Kör olmak için birebir.
NIce puzzle game. It's a little buggy at times. The UI is very rough. The ball (or soul of fallen warriors) disappears at times for no reason. However, a quick restart of the level fixes this issue. You not only have to solve the puzzle, but you have to be precise in your cut. The angle of the cut will make a big difference. There's several twists that keep the gameplay from getting stale including going into giant form. And every now and then you'll be tossing shurikens or batting the soul ball with a piece of wood, just for a little break from the normal. In the end, it's fun to cut down stuff with your Samurai sword. And when you don't get the cut right, you can go to town on the inanimate virtual objects. Rage quit by a thousand cuts. Rating 6/10
