Choose your heroes that will fight to rid this world of corrupted Tendryll. In order to survive, your heroes must work together and coordinate their unique abilities. You will encounter deadly enemies, dangerous traps, and perilous environmental hazards that hex your cards.

Each hero has its own move deck and draws a guaranteed move card each turn - allowing your heroes to always be in the fight. Dedicated map nodes let you swap in new move cards to maintain a balanced move deck.
Alongside their move decks, heroes also have unique attacks and skills that give them powerful ways to reposition themselves and others. You will knock enemies back into walls, teleport to random locations to gain an energy advantage, or throw allies and enemies across the battlefield - dealing heavy damage around where they land.

Double your block, gain Invisibility, or play your card twice - every card can potentially be improved with impactful runes like these.
If you’re feeling bold or desperate, shops and black markets offer risky anomalies that reward you with items for free - if you don’t pay with your life.

Survival requires difficult choices. Along your journey, your heroes will find card-altering runes, unique movement cards, and class-defining relics. Will your heroes take the greedy path to perfect their archetypes, or will they take a safer path, restoring their health with the hope of surviving another battle?

An interesting unique game world. Sure it might share mechanics from other games, what games do not? Yet, Tendryll does a great job in a lot of categories for this genre. I like the ambiance and artistry of the entire game. Overall well polished considering its' EA. The game might need some balance or mechanics tweaks, but which ones might be debatable. Some current patches have addressed some I had noticed. Awesome job! 11 2024 - I would vote this game for outstanding artistry.
As other reviewers have said it's as if Slay the Spire and Into the Breach had a baby together. That's a fair description and that's even how one of the developers described the game. Despite that the game definitely still has it's own identity and plays quite differently enough. You control 2 heroes who each has its own deck. Some cards only affect your own hero but many can target the other hero as well. The interaction between the two different heroes and how their hands/decks combo together is where the meat of the game is. When picking up certain items, runes that enhance cards and special cards you have to chose which hero gets the item/card. Deciding who gets what becomes a part of the greater plan. I've played a few runs so far (not as much as my play time would indicate though due to idling) and only managed to win one run. It's a demanding game and you really have to sink your teeth into the game's mechanics to get the understanding to win some battles. I think it's considerably harder than Slay the Spire. There are 10 ascension levels so it can become quite hardcore. It's worth noting that I had played the game for many hours when I first tried using the undo action function. You can min/max a round by playing it out, undoing and trying out every available combination of actions within the same turn. You can't undo when your turn is over though. This allows for something that some might consider cheesing. I've noticed that cards drawn and random teleporting of units is always the same if you replay a round and do the same actions in the same order. Considering how hard the game is at base level I don't think it's that big of a deal. Despite being in early access it's a very polished game with great core mechanics and interesting synergies. At the time of writing there are 3 unique heroes but hopefully there will be more. TLDR: Great, polished game, even in early access. Buy it.

Tendryll stands out with its grid-based movement system, which adds an extra layer of complexity to the traditional card-battling mechanics. Players must carefully coordinate their heroes, modify cards with runes, and construct powerful item builds to navigate through terrain and defeat a variety of enemies. One of the game's strongest points is its replayability. With over 170 cards, 115 relics, and three playable classes (with the promise of more content in the future), the game offers countless combinations and strategies for players to explore. The inclusion of runes and relics adds depth to the gameplay, allowing for creative customization and adaptability. Tendryll is not without its challenges. The game is undeniably difficult, which may deter casual gamers or those new to the genre. Runs can take upwards of two hours, requiring a significant time investment and strategic thinking. While the save feature is a welcome addition, the steep learning curve and complex mechanics might feel overwhelming for some players.

Trop super
To sum up, imagine "Fight in tight places" in "Slay the Spire" universe with "Hades" inspired graphics. I don't like to compare too much because this game has its own identity but in case you liked those games, or "Warriors of the Nile", try it. The game seems balanced, and you will quickly understand the philosophy and discover synergy. It's obviously really inspired by STS or Into the Breach but it's charming and the game has it's own little twists. Personally, I could see more "juice", for instance, when you land a big attack, having more satisfying sounds, visuals... The graphics are really good but the FX could be more. The game capsule is way below what you guys can do, please, do yourself a favor and change it :) The same music over and over drove me crazy. There's one aspect that disappointed me a little, it's the "environment effects". For instance, you push an enemy to what resembles a hole, you expect the enemy to fall but... no. I wish enemies were hit by column debris, or burned by their own magic... stuff like that.
I usually like these kinds of games so I figure I'll give it a shot. This game adds it's own twist which makes it unique however, there are balance issues with this game. The game requires you to make perfect moves every battle otherwise you will not be last long enough to beat the game. It's was fun until the near end where it's just dreadful. You think you have the best build and you're doing fairly well just to get rip'd at the end. I would stay away from this game until they're able to balance the game.
This is not a low skill cap deckbuilder like Monster Train where everyone can draft 1 godlike unit, card or relic that will automatically win you the run. It's difficult but in a good way.
An excellent iteration of the hybrid Breach-like and Spire-like subgenre. Could use improvements on the cross-class synergies and some of the Boss Relics.
