Temporal Storm X - Hyperspace Dream hearkens back to the days of retro arcade gaming we loved in the 1980's. It's slick neon style and pumping retro futuristic soundtrack bring the classic 1980's to the current day. TS-HD-X is the non-vr version of this game.

Can't recommend in the current state - the ingame controls are completely different to that shown in the input section of the starting window - and the control layout is awful. There is no auto-fire - you have to keep pressing the key to fire, and can't hold it down. What is worse, however, is that there is no joypad support - nor even mouse support... Music is boring too. Recently tried 1.2, but its still not particularly helpful - all you can do is use the mouse buttons to fire and not move the ship. Joypad support doesn't work with a Xbox 360 controller Had wondered whether joypad support was ever added, but no it wasn't
This is great! Shooty bang bang! Bright lights! Throbbing soundtrack! I seriously love all of the arcadey goodness. https://youtu.be/ajV7yIX0CSM
I'm playing this game for the first time in 2021. So, things have changed a bit since the game came out and since most reviews have been posted so far. They must have quietly updated the game without changing the description because now, when you load the game, you can reassign the controls to any keyboard keys you like. You can also use mouse buttons as well. So, that issue that many people have had with the game is fixed. It's still a smooth playing game that works great on my Windows 8.1 64 bit PC with a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti video card and 8 MB of RAM. It's a blast to play and it's like if the guys who made Gyruss decided upgrade the graphics, add powerups and ramp up the difficulty more gradually than they did in the arcade version back in the day. The only negative I have about the game is that there are times when the pretty graphics get a bit too busy and complicated, making it a little hard to see your targets coming at you. This is especially the case when a huge ship flies in behind the grid that you are flying along. These ships look very cool, but there's almost too much detail now which makes things flying in front of the difficult to see since every ship I've seen in the game so far is roughly the same set of metallic colors. It makes the game ships look realistic, but maybe if there was more variety in their coloration, they'd be easier to see when they are overlapping. Otherwise, it's a very fun game that I highly recommend if you love arcade style shooters and want something different from a side scroller or top-down view shooter. It's quite playable with a keyboard and mouse. I tried that first before using the gamepad, but I highly recommend getting a programmable gamepad for arcade style games like this. I'll update my review later if my impression of it changes, but for now, I'd say it is well worth paying only $2.99.
Created a steam account just to buy this game. Love it.. and the World ranking system is going to make for some great competition. The game play is very addictive. The music and sound effects are great. and the graphics are awesome. Its a smashup of old school retro gaming with a modern flashy polish! Great work... Hah current world ranking is #6. Better watch out #1 I'm coming for you!
Its cool, instantly enjoyable. Its got the retro gameplay and sound but the graphics are more like geometry wars and other spruced up retro shooters. Not a bad thing. Would be really cool on a joystick or gamepad my wrist is getting a workout on the keyboard haha.
The short review for this game is that I like it...a LOT. For those that want to know a little more feel free to read on. This game manages to combine awesome graphics and sound of more recent games with the retro gameplay of arcade games I played when I was a kid that were super easy to play, but hard to beat. I was convinced I was some sort of gaming prodigy as I blew through the tutorial and opening levels. Then the first level boss flew in and for a minute I thought I might be in for a challenge but realised I had no cause for worry as clearly my superior reflexes and almost precognitive anticipation of where the heavy armour ships would be, easily carried me through to the next zone. Things continued on like this through the bulk of the second zone as I yelled "I need backup!" every time I picked up a backup boost dropped from one of the ships. Towards the end of Zone 2 I began taking hits, losing armour here and there and starting to wonder if planning my credit screen victory dance may have been a touch premature when, out of nowhere, I blew up…. completely. I won’t go into too much detail except to say that it seems the second level boss decided to upgrade their guns when it heard their little brother on the first level got his butt kicked and rather than give me a heads up he just thought he would show me instead. I would tell you how I went against the 3rd level boss but I haven’t met him yet. But I will……… Overall for me this games is well worth the price and is one of the few games I enjoy, that I can also challenge my kids to beat my high score without being in danger of giving them some sort of PTSD.
Excellent retro action with modern bling and a pounding soundtrack. It's Gyruss for the modern age, but with less JS Bach. The game doesn't have controller support (yet) but works well with a keyboard.
Buen arcade de ritmo intenso, aunque algo limitado en el movimiento y sin posibilidad de utilizar joystick. Por lo demás,buenos gráficos, banda sonora potente y efectos de lumínicos interesantes.
