Played it for 30 mins but this is nothing compared to the Crazy Taxi from the old days. I cannot hear "I'm on way to retirement" anymore either :D Graphics are nothing special, sound effects are repetitive and some strange bugs when passengers glitch in your car. I sadly cannot not recommend this game.
This game runs pretty well on the Steam Deck, so if you only want to play it there, you might think it's worth it for a cheap price. On my desktop PC on my 4k tv however, the game is horrible. There are barely any configuration options. You cannot adjust anything about the resolution, texture quality, or any display settings at all. There's barely any other customization options beside that. So, it looks absolutely terrible on my TV. It looks like it's running at 720p, and the performance is very sluggish with tons of stutter. Even the load times on my pc are bad. It's installed to an ssd, but it seemed to take maybe 30secs to a minute to load the level after I pressed the Arcade Mode button. You're much better off skipping this and getting Crazy Taxi instead, but if you want to try it on the Steam Deck, you might be satisfied if it's a decent price.
A review copy was provided by the developer.
🔶 Taxi Chaos is an arcade racing game set on a city, be fast to drop off customers at their destination 🔶
Graphics (6 / 10) :
The graphics are good, all based on a city with many cars and building to avoid, and a little park to explore, but there only 1 main atmosphere. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3100829427
Gameplay (5 / 10) :
The arcade gameplay is simple to learn, but too much simple, drive a car with a jump function and a boost launch when you burn out your stationary car, pretty like the same as Crazy Taxi, but without any penalty when you runs into other cars. Each run starts with a 90-second timer, you save extra time by dropping customers off at their destinations. 3 Main game mode in the main menu : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3100830435 Normal is the base game when you have a GPS for helping you dropping customers off at their destinations. Pro is the same as Normal mode, but without the GPS for helping you, so almost impossible to know where to go except by learning the city map for hours. Free Run is the same as Normal, but with infinite time to run in the city and explore it. So all 3 Main game mode are almost the same gameplay. 7 differents cars in the game https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3100829932 All 6 others cars need to be unlock, (finish 5 runs / get 5-star at the end of a run …), but all cars drive the same way, and need multiples hours for unlocking them.
Price (2 / 10) :
Game cost 25 euros, all game mode are the same and the game take maximum 1 hour to see the main content of the gameplay, no career or mission mode, cost way to much.
Story/Music/Optimization (3 / 10) :
No story in the game, but that ok because that a racing game. Music is ok, but really repetitive. Really bad optimization, take 5 minutes for loading if installed on Disk Space (the game only take 3 Go), and required to be installed on a SSD for loading properly. Some freeze during gameplay, especially on first game on a section (played on i5 / 2 Go VRAM / 8 Go RAM) Also no graphics configuration in the game.
Final Note (4 / 10) :
🔶 Taxi Chaos is a Crazy Taxi like, but with a really poor content, many optimization problem , and a high price, only the graphics save the game from being a total wreck 🔶 💚💚💚 : - Graphics are ok - The main arcade gameplay is playable … ❌❌❌ : - … but literally the same as Crazy Taxi but in worse - The High price for a really poor content - All cars are almost the same with any car customization - Need to be installed on a SSD card. Just buy Crazy Taxi. Got this game in a bundle but the full price is 25 euros while Crazy Taxi is only 8 euros. So yeah basically you are getting ripped off. 2/10 Would hear the same voice lines and get fps drops again.
This was a mistake.
I usually play games until I beat them before issuing a review, but this game saddens e enough that I can't let other people be subjected to this. The gameplay is bland going in, the game has ridiculous loading times, no real option to just replay, ad it crashed on me twice within less than 30 min. The game controls fine in my opinion but it's not enough t salvage the rest.
5/10
0/100. INSANE LOADING TIMES. INSANE AMMOUNT OF LOADING. ZERO CONTROLL OR GRAFICS OPTIONS. only sound options. UNBELIVABLY BAD. HOLY HECK! I WOULD GET A REFUND IF I COULD. THESE LOADING TIMES ARE INSANEEEEEE. LIKE 5 MIN OF LOADING TO GET ITNO THE MENU!!!!!!!!!!!
Taxi Chaos is a handheld (Nintendo Switch)/console game that's also been put on Steam as a bit of an afterthought, as it's very much designed for the handheld/console gaming audience. It's a ripoff of Crazy Taxi, and despite being much newer and having better graphics, it's worse in all other respects. Usually games are awful because the developers didn't bother with graphics, despite knowing that video games are a visual medium. Here, it's just about really poor gameplay and really poor console porting. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. Because this is designed for handheld/portable gaming appliances, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the low power handheld gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the mobile game developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for low power handhelds forces upon a game. While this might run well on a Steam Deck, we must remember the vast majority of gamers here are gaming on PC. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 5 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Taxi Chaos has the completely unrealistic cash grab price of $25 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. For comparison, the $25 asking price for this game could get you games like "Cities: Skylines", "Far Cry 5" or "Bioshock Infinite". Heck, this costs more than GTA:V, which has taxi missions in it, as part of a much, much larger game. Where are you going to spend your money? More wisely than on games like this!
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.

Rating
6/10
Intro
Wow, Team 6 Game Studios finally made a decent game. With that being said though, some serious work has to be done to make this a worthy successor to the Crazy Taxi series. But considering that I love Crazy Taxi and Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller, I couldn't help but enjoy this, especially since aside from The Simpsons: Road Rage, there are hardly any Crazy Taxi-like games. But if you aren't a fan of Crazy Taxi, you can give this a pass or hold off for now and try the games that inspired it.
Positives
+ Decent replay value. + Good aesthetics and graphics. + Rewards you for doing certain tricks like jumps and near misses. + Decent soundtrack. With that being said, I still recommend playing Crazy Taxi sounding music.
Negatives
- No mini-games. - Repetitive dialogue. - No graphics settings. - There's no way to cancel mid-engine jump start. - Scoring system makes no sense. I earn $17,000, I get 4/5 stars. But when I earn $8,000, I get 5/5 stars?
