We've waited for almost 10 years and we get this garbage? It's crazy that it's not even a cheap copy of the original game's (GRP) early versions. A game being subpar to a game 15 years ago is atrocious. For anyone, like me, purchasing this game in hopes of getting a similar experience to GRP, let me tell you - it's not even remotely close. The game is full of bugs, has UI issues and generally, the interface and UX are clanky. A simple prompt to chatGPT would solve this. Now, as a software engineer, I can understand the limitations of being an indie creator and pitfalls, trust me on this. But you guys had 10 years and looks like it was just a hoax for milking Patreon/Donation money. Do not waste your money (even if it's 10$) on this. Trust me.
I've been waiting for this game since I was 16, now I'm 24, this game has no marketing, no big budget, please support them to make it even better.
i dont know what potato pc are you using for get 50 fps, i have a 5070 and im running 120fps in ultra 4k obviously the game has some bugs but it is fully playable and fun, is very accurate with GRP, it took 10 years bc there is only 2 devs with no funds
If you played Ghost Recon Phantoms, Shadow of Soldiers will feel familiar in a good way. The core gameplay already feels more solid than some recent shooters, and the Q interaction system with dynamic third-person camera changes is very well done. Combat feedback (hits, damage, effects) feels satisfying. However, new players should be aware that early progression is rough. Default weapons feel weak, and roles like Support and Recon are hard to enjoy without unlocking better gear. The progression system also seems planned for armor and equipment, which may feel grindy and could hurt new-player retention if not handled carefully. Maps look good visually, though some layouts don’t feel fully balanced yet. Still, that feels less important right now than improving onboarding, balance, and stability. Overall, the game has strong potential as a spiritual successor to GRP. If the developers focus on new-player experience, bug fixes, and fair cosmetic monetization, this could become something really solid.
Its all these unreasonable negative comments with people who have been playing for less than an hour that literally ruins development games. This game is not 100% Ghost recon Phantoms. if it were, it would of received a cease and desist. This game is as close to GRP as a small development team could of possibly gotten it and has a constant development to make this game better each day. I employ you to try and play and let this team continue to make this game good. I
Can you show me a better online shooter than Ghost Recon Phantoms? No other game comes even close to the level of fun and excitement that GRP offered. Shadow of Soldiers is a completely new project brought to life by a small group of developers inspired by GRP. It draws its best features from that game. There is still a lot of work to be done to reach the level of GRP, but SoS is definitely worth trying, as you won’t find a better shooter these days. What the game desperately needs now is more players, so if you’re still hesitating, check out some clips from GRP or SoS on YouTube and give it a try – it’s really worth it!
game is very buggy and glitchy. the ui is terrible. not worth the price it's asking at all. as the current state it's in it's not worth it. caliber or ghost recon phantom back then was free to play so i'm not sure why this underdeveloped game is pay to play. the game is not ready. already refunded and maybe will check it out again when it's more polish but so far the gameplay isn't that good.
I love this game.
It’s a very interesting game, constantly evolving, backed by an enthusiastic team. The gameplay mechanics are very good and don’t require high resources. It closely resembles Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms. I confidently recommend it!
