About
Build and decorate your tavern, hire staff, stock your larder, meet the locals, be the boss and run the show! Whether you keep a cosy neighbourhood taphouse or a lean, mean gold-minting machine, the choices - and consequences - are yours.

Dozens of intertwined game systems create unpredictable emergent situations. Dirt, heat, noise, flammability, sickness and of course, a parade of colourful customers all keep the unexpected coming.

Today’s situation: Half of your staff are in bed with sleep-sickness. Orders are piling up and patrons’ tempers are getting heated. So is the tavern - because it’s on fire! A spark from a broken lantern landed on just the wrong patch of dirt with no one around to notice. Oops, perhaps it’s time to call the fire brigade...
An expansive narrative campaign lets you build taverns across a vibrant world full of your favourite fantasy cultures. Each new location brings fresh challenges and surprising stories. Meet immortal elementals, outwit halfling philosophers and aid a crazed orc inventor.

Experience a magical storybook fully-narrated by Steven Pacey. Encounter hundreds of bite-sized stories with a surprise at every turn. There’s always someone needing the guidance of a Tavern Keeper like you. What choices will you make?
Decorate every nook and hollow of your tavern to create everything from bustling taprooms to relaxing reading corners. Place and manipulate thousands of items anywhere with complete creative freedom and make the tavern of your dreams.

Go beyond decorating and become a master artisan by using Tavern Keeper’s powerful Design Mode to craft unique furnishings. Combine pieces, add magical effects, then share your creations with the Tavern Keeper community.

Play the single-player campaign your way with adjustable game mechanics and storyteller settings or play in Freeplay for a custom challenge. Pick Challenging and strategize over every decision, barely making it through each day, or play a Relaxed game running the tavern of your dreams without pressure. The choice is yours.

Reviews
I’ve absolutely loved my time with Tavern Keeper. It’s one of those rare games that feels both incredibly cozy and surprisingly deep at the same time. [GIMME THE EXPANSION lol] The game also leans into its fantasy setting in a really fun way. It feels almost like the Two Point game sass meets a DnD campaign in the best way. The dialogue and interactions are HILARIOUS. Between the quirky characters, storybook style narration, and little RPG like choices, it feels like you’re part of a living, magical world rather than just managing a business [which is so many SIM games]. My only holdups were SO small. There are still a few things like inventory management and design quirks that seem like they are going to be addressed after the early access is replaced with 1.0 so I literally can't wait to replay the game when that is released. What I appreciate most is how much care you can feel in the design. It’s clear this was a passion project everything from the writing to the mechanics feels thoughtful and intentional. Even in early access, it’s already polished, full of personality, and incredibly easy to sink hours into.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

For now it's great. Falls a bit short in terms of options but that's obv expected in EA. First major update looks good and devs seem to put a lot of love and community input into it. Music and little stories are fun, orcs singing Ode to Joy is awesome.
For the price, the fact that it's unfinished, your money is better spent on a finished game. It's fun, but playability wears off quickly unless your into either replay or assembling custom furnishings. The novelty wears off extremely fast compared to other games that I would play for the same price.
Game Dev Tycoon came out in 2013 and I still go back to it from time to time. Tavern Keeper is Greenheart Games second game and I just played through the tutorial. It. Is. Fantastic. The game has everything I love about management games (especially taverns) and a lot of amazing humor and the narrator is top notch. I will absolutely complete a full review as I continue the game, just wanted to post this first impression. Well done Greenheart Games. {10/10} Great design, sound, music, writing, art. Absolutely wonderful.
Easy to understand, but it gets progressively more complex. Fun and very entertaining; hours fly by while you're playing. On the downside, I think money sometimes accumulates very slowly, making it difficult to progress with construction, and there's limited space for decorating if you want to use all the amenities. I'd like to be able to automate the purchase of drinks and ingredients somehow. There's still more content to be added, but it has a lot of potential.
its pretty good, price is a bit high but the devs are cool so whatever
This a great tavern management sim game with a lot of personality. You can tell the devs put a lot of time and love into the game with all the little details in the narration and animations of your guests/workers.
Its a nice little game, with a fun story and relaxing mechanics. Currently a short experience for the Story Mode and Endless Possibilities if your into Sandbox. But be aware when you get it, welcome to the club where we keep pressing F5 on the Dev page "when will be the next update, we need more" xD Recommended: Get if for 50% off current state ( Feb 2026 )
they added a lot of clutter to distract from the fact that the game is super boring
