About

Task Force Admiral Vol.1: American Carrier Battles is a single-player experience centered on the command of an early Pacific War US Navy carrier task force. As the overall commander, you are in charge of seeking the destruction of the enemy naval forces and preventing your opponent, the Japanese Navy, from accomplishing its objectives. To achieve your aims, you have at your disposal the most fearsome sea projection weapon known to Man in 1942: your carrier air groups and the task forces that support them.
As a carrier task force admiral in this pioneering age of air/naval warfare, assume the mantle of retribution in this innovative interpretation of a classic topic, as the first title in a new series that will further explore and develop the genre. Forget about the limitations of the past, and let the best of wargaming and simulation blend and blossom together in this new take on command at sea! Re-live the great battles of the first year of the Pacific War as if you were there yourself. In here there is no dice roll, no artificial skill-tree, no arbitrary stats, selective fog of war or supernatural crystal-clear communications. It is real-time crisis management for you, realism and historicity without concession, as little abstraction as can be, and loads of action, suspense and refreshing gameplay packed in the same single computer software.

Planes, ships, the sea oh my. Lets battle! The strategy is outstanding. I like the aircraft planning before the strike. Plus its a micoprose game...
I do recommend although its tough at its current price. I hope it adds more decision making from the players side. Like steering the boat as well as speed, the current way is too time consuming. I also hope we can redirect or even call back fighters from a mission as the game plan 25 mins ago is no longer the game plan due to the ever changing dynamics of each battle

It is a really great game its like aircraft carrier survival but open world less complicated and way better. There is a lot of bugs and limited gameplay and map options for this game to be 40 bucks, but it looks like the devs are working them out. On the other hand it would be nice to be able to pick your fleet and carriers instead of having a premade fleet and carriers. In the end the game is very good and worth checking out.
This is a wonderful game. I hope for a campaign mode similar to UBOAT but the scenarios are fun and engaging.
Great WW2 Navel Strategy game
Holy cow! I was following the art development of this game for a very long time. I was pretty excited when the developers really wanted a highly detailed game that made the player think hard about how he was going to use his carrier deck to schedule aircraft movement, CAPs, Strikes, and Recon. I think they really nailed the goal they were working to create. I can see that there is more work to do and some polish needed on the AI, but they really created something unique and much more realistic than even I had expected. Playing this game really gives you the feel for what air ops planning was like for carrier groups. I got my but handed to me when recovering a returning strike and not being able to scramble fighters. At first I didn't think my CAPs would be able to take down much of a strike wave, but they definitely cut the numbers down after a while...but I wish my fighters disrupted there formation and cohesion better.

Fun game!
Ate a textbook attack from the IJN aircraft which disabled both my carreirs, then watched as 4 squadrons of SBDs lemming rushed a single IJN carrier... hitting it twice in the bow and tickling it slightly I suppose it's an accurate early Pacific War experience
Without a doubt the best ww2 battle sim I have ever played. Worth every penny...
