Tangle Tower

Charming art style, the characters are unique, and the two detectives have lots of good quips. That said, there's only a few hours of game in here, and the mystery itself suffers from fridge logic.

Joguinho muito bom, as músicas são boas e cada personagem é completamente diferente. Os puzzles não são difíceis, porém são legais. Gostei bastante das partes onde tinhamos que montar a frase utilizando as pistas encontradas.

I love this game, it's just so well made. I play with my husband. Normally in games like this, one of us will read out the text, but this is all really well voice-acted. Its funny, the story is good, the characters are brilliant, its intuitive, the soundtrack is good, the artwork is beautiful. It feels like this is the game the developers wanted to make, rather than pushing out something quickly, without all the optional extras which really make a game special. There's lots of quality-of-life features they didn't have to include but which immerse you more in the game. For example, there's a tab for each character displaying their connections with other characters, which updates as you play the game. Similarly, the text for each clue updates as you learn more about it. There's an artwork gallery where you can see developer comments and inspiration drawings / work in progress - for everything in the game, every location / character / clue. It's not too easy- we spent a while hunting for the next step occasionally but we were never so stuck we had to get a hint. It took us about 5 sessions to get through, and as soon as we finished we installed the next game for our next session. I'm excited! :)

I played this game when it first released on the Apple Store-- was an immediate download when I saw it was a continuation of the Detective Grimoire series. As a fan of the flash game as a kid to loving Secret of the Swamp as a teen, I felt Tangle Tower was perfectly adapting with me somehow as I grew up with it. The references of past characters and the redesign of others is tastefully done! I was unsure if this was considered a direct sequel to Secret of the Swamp, but since nothing of that game was directly mentioned by our protags, I assume the characters and art referencing the previous game are merely just little easter eggs in a way? The art style and animation is gorgeous, the characters are unique (omg the voice acting is always superb!), the storyline is captivating. I was excited to rediscover this game and its predecessors! The puzzles vary, but nothing too crazy while still remaining rather creative. I did not mind the ending all too much. It was a twist ending I did not see coming nor can I see how it came to be even now based off collected evidence, but the villain explains it all and it is not too shabby; just not all too compelling either. It did not ruin the game for me when I first played it in 2019 and it did not ruin it for me now in 2026. All in all, the game is just a true showcase of the developers ability to adapt their franchise in every sense!

가벼운 퍼즐과 흥미를 끄는 스토리가 마음에 들었다. 엔딩 부분에서 다소 아쉽긴 했는데, 조금 더 디테일을 살려서 차근차근 풀어나갔다면 더 좋았겠지만 나쁘지 않았다.
