Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of The Rings™ Game

Despite all the negative hype around, I decided to give it a go. I'm so glad I did. The graphics are lovely, music is great and it runs really well on my steam deck. There are lots of quests to do, as well as your normal farming, foraging and fishing. If you are not sure about this one, get it on sale and just have a go it's well worth it!

There is a lot I do like about this game. It is beautiful, I love the cooking mechanics, the decoration mode works well. I just can't deal with the constant crashing that has only gotten worse with time. I also wish there away any semblance of a faster movement speed. for the amount of just running back and forth this game makes you do get's very frustrating when the days are so short. Another thing is that I feel that it takes too long to start getting unique types of furniture other than tables, beds, dressers, and chairs. Even with spending money at shops and constantly cooking for the hobbits to receive rewards.

Tolken would be proud also bearded dwarf woman 10/10!!

A truly lovely game!!! The atmosphere is enchanting, and the game world is visually stunning. The cooking mini-game is one of the nicest features of the gameplay. This title is ideal for anyone looking for a game free from stress or conflict – a relaxing experience where you can enjoy fishing, gardening, decorating your home, interacting with NPCs and following the story. The tranquillity of the Shire is, in my opinion, the game’s greatest strength; it’s wonderful to play as a Hobbit with the distinctive traits of the Harfoots :-)! The idea of the changing seasons is brilliant – absolutely fabulous – well done! Unfortunately, the inability to perform basic actions such as running, jumping or climbing (or perhaps a teleport system) makes getting around rather slow. The story, too, which is based on events that unfold one after the other without any major plot twists, doesn’t quite do justice to a title that could have been top-notch. The map is a bit limited, alas… but how lovely it would have been to venture further afield, explore, discover… But what can I say… I like it; I like the way it soothes and relaxes me… I like life in the Shire. I applaud the idea, in the hope that there might be other games of this kind – perhaps more comprehensive than this one, but just as enchanting!!!!

Very cozy game! do not expect great adventures, Bywater's just a little village, but if you enjoy the halflings life you'll find yourself in the right place!

It's fine as a little Cozy genre game, a little expensive for the value, my hours capped at 20 before it became repetitive. It borrows more from Tolkien's legacy than it gives back. It does have a nice cooking mechanic, but the gardening aspects are very shallow, which is a big miss as that is a substantial part of the game, and there is no scope for any creative endeavour. $15 to $20 would be a fair price.

Along the lines of Stardew Valley, Sun Haven, and other cozy life games. There's no combat, you are a new hobbit settling into village life with cooking, farming, foraging, and fishing. The characters are fun (I really enjoy Nefi and Rosie) and the story is entertaining. There are still some glitches but I've not run into any game breaking ones, mostly just a couple like a cooking quest not registering I completed it or a fishing one saying I didn't catch the fish.

This game is so good. Characters well written, right level of difficulty without feeling monotonous, and just good old Lord of the Rings lore. It feels like comfort food when you play. BRING SNACKS!
