About
Seikyu is a quiet island sanctuary, hidden far from the noise of the human world. Here, yokai spirits live in harmony with nature and the turning seasons.
You and your sister begin your new lives in an old farmhouse - a place filled with memories, and room to begin anew. There's always something to tend, someone to chat with, or a quiet corner you haven't discovered yet.
Seikyu isn't a place you rush through. It's a place you can return to.

Your days follow a rhythm you create. Tend the farm, wander into town, or follow a path you haven't explored before. Some days you'll harvest. Some days you'll decorate. Some days you'll stumble across something you weren't expecting.
Expand your fields at your own pace, grow seasonal crops, and raise chickens, cows, sheep, and capybaras. Craft furniture and gradually create a space that feels like home.

The people of Seikyu have their own lives, routines, and quiet worries. Torleone, the thoughtful otter fisherman. Sasaki, the well-meaning carpenter who's always in the middle of a project. Nyotengu, the watchful guardian of the island skies.
Spend time with them and you'll start to notice the small changes - new dialogue, shared traditions, and story moments that unfold naturally over time. Their stories are interwoven, and yours will become part of that tapestry.

As a descendant of the Fox Clan, you carry the gift of shapeshifting. Transform to experience the island in new ways - charge through fields as a boar, soar on the wind as a tengu, or slip beneath the waves as a water spirit. Each form opens new corners of Seikyu: hidden ruins, distant hilltops, and sunken treasures.

Cherry blossoms give way to summer heat. Autumn leaves fall. Snow settles on the rooftops. Seikyu lives and breathes through every season, shaping the crops you grow, the festivals you attend, and the pace of life around you.

I loved the peaceful nature of the game, and its not too hard with combat or too tedious with farming or leveling. The only thing I dont like and it tends to be my issue with alot of life sim games, is that the cooking mechanic is very much trial and error. As far as I know, there is no real way to find recipes, or to make it easier to find them other than to keep putting random things together until you find it. Now there is probably something I am missing and if I am, please let me know!
j'adore ce jeu , tres agreable
So here's the rub...overall Tales of Seikyu is an enjoyable farming/life/dating sim, with some shortcomings. PROS: - Enjoyable storyline, that actually has some nice twists and more grandure than most farming sims. - Exploration is quite enjoyable and rewards you for looking in every nook and cranny. - Characters are weird, quirky, unique and interesting - whatever you're looking for - it's there. - Good choice of bachelorettes and bachelors to choose from. - Music is pleasant, nothing standing out, but a nice background earworms. - Different yokai forms are nice and refreshing take, most are really useful on a regular basis. - Fishing mechanics are quite nice, you have to wear down the fish before catching it. CONS: - Meaningless skills and its progression (you gain levels in combat, farming, fishing etc. up to lvl 10, but there's nothing behind it, no improvements, just level number goes up, kind of pointless at the time). - Perhaps it was already patched, but few days ago some clothes were still broken (particularly top of summer male outfit). When you put it on your character starts T-posing, clothes physics break and you cannot take it off (well...you can, but it's still on your character model). To fix it you have to take it off, save and restart the game, then put some other clothes on...or run around butt naked. To each their own. - Lackluster marriage and this is big one. Marriage is limited to literal token character in your house. You get married, prepare (what supposed to be a master bedroom) spouse room, after marriage your spouse is in the room, so you can interact with her/him, but that's it. You cannot use bed, wardrobe, cannot sleep together (unless you cheat it and ask your spouse for sleepover date every single day), I was hoping for maybe a possibility to change their clothes, given you have many of those. No after marriage contents, no specific interactions, no hanging out, sharing chores...anything. Feels like this one was rushed out of the door unfinished, so here's hoping future updates will change that. - Weird sound queues. Sometimes weird sounds are playing. Sometimes completely inadequate music plays to what's happening on the screen. No voiceover is a choice and that's okay, but I had few occasions, where I felt like the game is very silent in some scenes. - Stamina/Endurance in tengu form doesn't make sense. I was hoping with increase of that stat I will be able to fly further in my maxed tengu form, but that's not the case. 4 flaps of wings and you're done, despite having amost half of my stamina/endurance left. That's meh. - Map of ruins. Well...whoever designed this map deserves a long community service hours. I've played a lot of farming/life sims, many of those have similar form of dungeons/ruins/mines, but this is one of the worst and most confusing map designs I've ever encountered. Many times you're forced to wander around, guessing the route to the room you're looking for. Navigating the ruins supposed to be challenging, but not because of badly designed map. That's just...yeah, bad design. - Availability of fish during fishing. This seems to be very simplified, as it seems you can catch any fish in any body of water. No matter river, lake or ocean fish...you can catch all of them in any rivers, lakes or ocean. Would be nice to actually split those by certain water areas, so you can target groups of fish in the area, because right now catching the specific fish for quests or shrines completion is a painful experience at best. - Half of crafting is kind of pointless and serves in majority only to get items for daily quests. Even clothes or furniture crafting primarily uses items you can obtain from monsters, animals or through gathering. This really needs some fixing. - Not sure if this is by design, but Yuki-onna is missing from affinity tab. You can clearly interact with her at the same level (almost) as the other bachelorettes, so why not having her in affinity tab? It felt like she was there, but once you help her "recover" she disappeared? Not sure about that though. The game becomes kinda boring after you're done with the main story. Not many things to do past end game. I'm looking at some other similar games in comparison, where they offer so much more. The game just came out of EA, so I'm hoping this will be updated and more things will be added. I may push to finish at least all seasons of year 1, as I've finished the game somewhere around middle of summer, though this may be my fault, as I've increased the length of days, so I've had more time to do everything (not sure it was all that worth it, but it's good the option is there). After finishing the game I felt like something is missing at the end of it, there could be more...but then I looked at my playtime...and 83 hours is a really decent time. Even if it would be around 65-70 hours mark where I finished, that's still a lot of content. Perhaps looking from this angle, where I've played 83 hours and the time flew by, that's the testament of how enjoyable the game was to me? Hence, despite a lengthy list of cons, I still feel like I can recommend this game.
very fun so far, the characters are diverse and cute
I love the romance aspect, especially how its a 3D version of other popular life sim games.
.
cozy and peak
I've only played a few hours into this one, and I'm already thoroughly enjoying it. The controls took a little getting used to but so far that would be my only issue. The world is beautiful and what little of the characters I've seen are great. Cannot wait to continue!
A game with lots of potential. The devs still have a long way to go to fully finish the game - i experienced a few bugs (though none game breaking) and a bunch of cutscenes feel quite unfinished. There were also some moments where it felt parts of the story were cut or still need to be added. Despite these things, the game has undeniable charm. The map feels quite big with a fair few places to explore, and the NPCs have a lot of personality and their own little storylines. Unlocking the ability to fly is also always a bit bonus. Overall a strong recommend, though maybe more to wishlist and buy after one or two more updates.
