This game should be great, but is wallowed down with crap. I'd give it a pass if you've got anything else to play. I imagine the end gets pretty hard. I'd give it ♥♥♥♥ you too rating if they had one. Great first person shooter with all kinds of stuff that make a game fun. The google AI refers to this as Shodan's game. Turn off the auto-slut in game options or it will reshuffle your hotkeys. The game gets hard because there is limited healing items that gets used up and to respawn would take too long, so I start saving it and reloading it all the time. The controls are slow and require two actions to use health items and there is a wrench with extra damage items, but you would have to respawn after every few monster because of low health if you used them. Ammo is limited. At 14 hours it still feels like I am playing in glue with monsters that do enough damage to make sure the respawn system gets used. A great game, but it brings pain. tHIS GAME IS AN INEVENTORY NIGHTMARE. i HAVE SPENT WAY TOO MUCH TIME STARING AT THE INVENTORY WONDERING WHAT GUNS TO THROUGH AWAY AT WHICH TIME THE ELECTRIC BILL GOES UP AND MY EYES GET MORE AND MORE TRIED. TOTLAT ♥♥♥♥
I have a few gripes, but overall a nice game. Maybe a bit basic, but I guess that's given as it's paying homage to the original. I bet it runs good on old hardware too. I wish they made a SHODAN voice for google maps navigator. I'd pay good money for that. In order of descending severity: -Cyberspace, I won't elaborate. -I had some issues due to running on linux, the draw distance would default to almost nothing, easily remedied with editing an ini file. -Classic horror game low FOV syndrome by default, but you can change it to decent. Curiously enough it's separate for the cyberspace mode, so adjust both.
Calling all Origin Fans! This has to be the remake that defied the odds, out in 2023. All I know is that the world they created is still on the Grand Staircase somewhere. Today our emergency evacuate sounded. I looked through my library of games, as a new account holder since last year. What games came to mind? Why, one that was previewed in 2022, of course! There it was, not pure impule or simple non-linear euclidean geometry after-all, but close enough. I mean, what with the puzzle solving tid-bit pickup. A real bonus. In my experience, better than the world they created that keeps opening infinitely onto a undead platform in complete conempt of the Stygian Abyss! Great work, all the same. Keep posted, as I have a review for Underworld Ascendant which I know you will like :) xxx
good classic 8/10 it's like horror and dungeon crawler
You want a game that will throw you in the deep end and force you to figure it out? Then this is the game for you, in the best way possible! Genuine exploration and superb weapon progression. Have fun recycling almost everything not nailed down!
It's a good game and I enjoyed my time with it. The atmosphere, ambiance, and world-building are impeccable and still hold up. The initial level designs each have personality and character, and even though the combat is not the main drain I did have fun with the immersive sim elements of it. However, I couldn't bring myself to finish it after about 11 hours or so, because I felt like by that point most of the game's ideas were played out and the remainder seemed a bit too repetitive and uninteresting. I watched the ending of the game and I was glad I didn't play through it.
Save often and then save again. This is a classic and it's been to long since I played it. This is a time consuming game. I wish I could leave notes on the map which is my only gripe. Head shots are a must have skill or your going to die a lot. Progression is pretty good and shouldn't cause to many problems if you don't rush headlong into rooms or around corners. You will die or wish you had. Enjoy the game and take frequent breaks as you can get motion sickness even with the head bob off. Your weapons still bounce around.
great game, nightdive is the best. where's system shock 3!?
The game feels amazing to explore and very smooth to play overall, save for the speed bump I feel entering cyberspace segments which I suppose makes it a very faithful remake of the original where these also Weren't Very Fun. Visibility issues are infrequent but sometimes hindering, but didn't affect my experience enough not to recommend the game. I've yet to play the original but feel like I should, at this point. Might update my review if I do, we'll see.
