Swords and Sandals Spartacus

I dont care anymore this game is terrible, constant clipping and bugs with literally nothing to do with Swords and Sandals no thank you

This game was okay for what it promised in the first few levels. After that i found myself falling below floors and glitching off the map forcing me to give a life to restart. This seems to happen more and more in the later levels and i had to give up before i could finish the game. clearly this game was not bug checked

Great and fun platformer from a great indie developer!

This game is fantastic.... I have always been a fan of the Swords and Sandals franchise, owning multiple copies of each game over multiple platforms. That's why I decided to become a Patreon to Whiskeybarrel Studios, receiving this game as a gift in return. I would happily have paid the full price for it regardless. If sword and sandals were more similar to something like Prince of Persia, then this would be the spinoff game you'd get. It has a very retro feel to it. It's more high paced than the other games, but definitely still has the same charm. This game can be played on a very forgiving casual setting with unlimited lives, but also on a hardcore, single life setting, as well as several difficulties in between. If you like action platformers and you like the franchise as much as I do, then you will not be disappointed. Also, I would love to see the soundtrack of this game as a dlc in the future.

Swords and Sandals Spartacus is a new entry in this long running series of games and is an action platformer focusing on the famous gladiator Spartacus. The 16bit pixel artstyle looks good and the music fits the atmosphere well. Overall playing this game was a good experience, however I've encountered a couple of problems I wanna adress: - Currently there's no volume control for sound & music and the game is very loud. So you gotta use Windows volume control which is not optimal - Playing with a PS4 controller I've noticed that the dpad isn't working correctly despite having it set in the control options. Left and right look up and down while up and down does nothing. So you have to use the analog stick for movement which once again isn't optimal - There was noticable slowdown in level 14 - In addition to that every so often the attack button stopped working completely, meaning I was left defenseless. Restarting the level or dying wouldn't fix the issue, only quitting and reloading the save file. - Hitboxes also seem quite off in places. Some enemies can randomly kill you in one hit one time and another time it takes several hits. Also some spike traps seemed kinda wonky. Having talked to the developer after playing he assured me that he'll be working on these issues and a patch is on its way. So overall it's a good game and once the bugs are ironed out I can fully recommend it to anyone who grew up with retro platformer titles.

Ačkoliv hra na první pohled nemusí vypadat kvůli grafice lákavě, tak vám ji mohu s čistým svědomím doporučit. Je to skákačka, ale na rozdíl od klasické skákačky zde máte velmi dobrý combat systém - jak postupujete hrou, tak si průběžně vylepšujete svoji postavu (itemy, schopnosti, dovednosti, vlastnosti...) a zároveň stále bojujete proti těžším a těžším nepřátelům. Díky dobrému combat systému vás hra udrží hrát klidně několik hodin, navíc, když se ponoříte do příběhu, tak je to opravdu skvělá atmosféra. Hru vřele doporučuji nejen milovníkům S&S, ale i všem co hledají nějakou dobrodružnou hru.
