It's alright. Don't go in expecting a true sequel to the original. The campaign is made up of the same 20 or so maps (several lifted from Superhot 1, to my disappointment), with each 'node' reshuffling the map playlist, ranging from 5 to 15, featuring randomised and increasingly challenging enemies as the game progresses. The player is has a limited number of lives in each node. 'Hacks' are gameplay perks scattered throughout each node, including exploding throwables, ricocheting bullets, heart refills, stronger lunches, etc. Next are the core perks selected at the start of each node, four in total: the hotswitch ability, +1 life, a recalling katana, and a supercharge ability, similar to hotswitch but you don't switch bodies. The limited and recurring map pool makes the game very repetitive, and due to the almost non-existent story, it's as if the developers slapped together some challenge maps for their new game and forgot to create the actual, story-driven campaign. I can see this fitting better as a Superhot 1 DLC, and players should limit their expectations as such. On sale, MCD is worth the price if you *really* enjoyed the first game, beat all the challenges, and are hungry for more. For casual fans, you might have fun for an hour or two before the monotony sets in.
