sorry to say that, but it is boring, not challenging, lacks depth and fun
You're a raccoon riding an ostrich.... llama... horse-thing and bonk corpo-pigs on the melon, platforming your way to the top of the corporate ladder, I mean the very tip-top of the executive penthouse office, and tell the corpo-pig-overlord to stick it were the sun don't shine.
Funny, satirical story. Simple yet fun metroidvania that pulls out real world QR codes to tie into the story. Worth a playthrough and cheap.
Mi objetivo es sacarme este juego al 100% para no tener que jugarlo nunca más.
Bastante divertido, buenos controles y combate basado en combos muy satisfactorio.
This game is ugly... Also the fist dialogs made me see where it was going Sorry but it's one of the most rancid way to protest and it way too "in your face" here. I don't want politics in my games and if it has it, try to merge it on the story, don't make it the whole game
SuperEpic: The Entertainment War is a bold and personality-driven Metroidvania developed and published by Undercoders that blends classic side-scrolling action with pointed satire aimed squarely at the modern games industry. Set in a dystopian future where a single mega-corporation has seized total control of entertainment and monetized every aspect of play, the game immediately establishes a tone that is humorous, defiant, and unapologetically self-aware. Rather than merely borrowing the structure of genre classics, it uses that framework as a vehicle for commentary, wrapping exploration and combat around a narrative that openly mocks corporate greed, exploitative monetization, and the erosion of creativity. Players take control of Tan Tan, a raccoon protagonist riding atop his loyal llama companion Ola, forming an unusual but charming duo that stands in sharp contrast to the sterile corporate world they seek to dismantle. The setting is built as a sprawling, interconnected complex owned by RegnantCorp, with areas themed around exaggerated corporate environments and entertainment clichés. Offices, production zones, and heavily guarded facilities double as platforming challenges and satirical set pieces, making exploration feel purposeful both mechanically and thematically. Progression follows classic Metroidvania logic, with new abilities unlocking access to previously unreachable areas, encouraging thorough exploration and rewarding curiosity. Combat in SuperEpic is fast, kinetic, and rooted in combo-based melee action. Tan Tan wields a variety of weapons and gadgets that can be mixed and matched, allowing players to tailor their approach to encounters. Battles emphasize momentum and positioning, rewarding aggressive play and fluid chaining of attacks. While the core mechanics are easy to grasp, the game gradually introduces upgrades and enemy variations that keep fights engaging across its runtime. Boss encounters are a particular highlight, combining distinct visual designs with patterns that test both reflexes and mastery of the combat system, even if some encounters lean more toward endurance than complexity. One of the game’s more unconventional features is its use of optional external mini-games accessed through QR codes scattered throughout the world. These codes unlock browser-based challenges on a mobile device, which in turn reward in-game bonuses. This mechanic cleverly reinforces the game’s satirical themes, parodying cross-platform engagement and modern monetization strategies while simultaneously offering extra content for players willing to engage with it. Although not essential to progression, these moments add an extra layer of novelty and experimentation that distinguishes SuperEpic from more traditional Metroidvania titles. Visually, the game embraces vibrant pixel art with expressive animations and exaggerated character designs that complement its comedic tone. Environments are colorful and detailed, often filled with visual gags and references that reward attentive players. Enemy designs range from absurd corporate caricatures to imposing mechanical threats, reinforcing the game’s exaggerated worldview. The soundtrack supports this energy with retro-inspired tracks that keep exploration lively and combat intense, though repetition may set in during extended play sessions. Overall, the audiovisual presentation succeeds in reinforcing the game’s identity as both a love letter to classic platformers and a playful critique of contemporary industry trends. Narratively, SuperEpic wears its satire on its sleeve. Dialogue, environmental storytelling, and collectible lore entries all contribute to a story that is intentionally exaggerated and irreverent. While the humor may not resonate equally with all players, it is consistently committed and integrated into gameplay rather than existing as a separate layer. The game does not aim for subtlety, instead delivering its message with bold strokes and frequent jokes that poke fun at familiar industry practices and cultural touchstones. The pacing and difficulty curve reflect the game’s indie roots, with moments of uneven challenge and occasional ambiguity in navigation. Backtracking is frequent, as expected for the genre, and some players may find certain sections frustrating due to enemy density or unclear progression cues. However, these elements are balanced by a strong sense of freedom and discovery, allowing players to approach the world at their own pace and uncover secrets that reward persistence. Taken as a whole, SuperEpic: The Entertainment War is a distinctive and memorable Metroidvania that succeeds through its strong personality and thematic confidence. While it may not reinvent the genre mechanically, its combination of energetic combat, layered exploration, and sharp satire gives it a unique voice. For players who enjoy retro-inspired action games with humor, social commentary, and a willingness to experiment, SuperEpic offers a lively and engaging journey that stands apart from more conventional entries in the genre.
