Really great pure, precision platformer. It is all about the challenge of mastering SMBs movement physics and it is the freedom of movement and optional fast play where the game excels. Perfecting the optimal way through level, at speed, feels really satisfying. There are no gimics, no power ups, no character development. The satisfaction comes from level completion and then completing a level well. Some levels have light puzzle elements. But each level is short, so the insta-deaths arn't an issue. Although some of the last levels on mainline completion are fairly long and quite challenging ... as they should be. It is certainly a game you can just kick back on the couch, pick up a controller and knock out a few levels for 10 minutes, or clean up some missed bandages. Although it is very easy to get started, the difficulty does indeed ramp up, but certainly isn't unreasonable or unfair in the mainline story. There is lots to unlock and lots to achieve to an extremely high difficulty when we are talking hitless runs ... which are Steam achievements. The availability of additional challenges outside the mainline story keeps the interest up, as the levels increase in difficulty. I'm in my 50s though and on a lot of opiates for pain reiief, and i'm progressing with no problems. I'll see out the "true" completion I think. Although I am a bit obsessive and do have Hollow Knight's path of pain under my belt ... which reminds me. ... If you have played Hollow Knight, Super Meat Boy gameplay closely resembles Path of Pain, although is quite a bit easier on the main line. Even the jumping physics feel fairly close. If you hated Path of Pain, I don't think SMB would be for you. I play with a PS4 controller and its great. Controls are really simple, L/R Jump Sprint. Well worth every penny though and would highly recommend. Rambled on too much, ciao.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Very well made platformer with tons of content
Suuuuuuuper Meat Boy!
The fact that THIS game out of many other options is one of the most iconic platformers OAT GENUINELY pisses me off. The ENTIRE game is FILLED with artificial difficulty, aka extremely wacky, irresponsive controls with noticeable input lag.. in a game focused on precise inputs and timing... are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me? Wanna know the funniest part? The game's easy, one of the easiest platformers I've played, because if it wasn't for the controls, the game would be remembered as a snoozefest, even the final levels and the post game content would be VERY easy if it wasn't for that, in fact, the finals levels specifically have some specific jumps in each level that are VERY precise, I'm talking about like 4 frames or sum? Which is BS because other than that, the final levels are also a snoozefest, but if it wasn't for the damn artificial difficulty even those jumps would be a joke. The obstacles the game tries to throw at you are a joke, with 99% of it being saws, and when they aren't saws, the game is even easier because the developers GENUINELY don't know what they're doing and have no idea on how to actually create difficulty except for those damn controls, NONE of the enemies are difficult, and the same goes for the obstacles except for some segments with saws; I mean the eyes are LITERALLY inexistent if you're fast enough, at that point just give me a timer but ig the developers weren't creative enough for something as complicated as... a Timer... You also can't tilt you joystick into any direction that isn't the main cardinal ones, if you tilt it slightly upwards in order to not go mach speed into that direction, oops, that doesn't do anything, you're bashing against the wall :) if you ask me for precision then at least let me be precise, that's just hypocritical I gotta give credit where its due, the bonus levels are actually very balanced, they are hard, but definitely not too hard, regardless if it is artificial difficulty or not, it's the only times I actually had fun, they'll kill you a few times but they're very manageable, I like those levels and their difficulty is perfect accounting the wacky controls But yea, overall the game has very noticeable input lag for the precision it asks, a button mapping that can't be changed, which is BS for those who lack a controller, and more artificial difficulty than you could ever imagine, the entirety of the game's difficulty comes from the clanky controls and input lag rather than the actual obstacles, even THOSE specific obstacles AND the post game content would be a joke if it wasn't for that; I want you to list me ONE difficult level where that's not the case, I dare you
