Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 1 → 0.14/day in the week after.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 8.2/day in the week to Jul 17 → 0.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I was worried if I'd gotten too old and my reaction speed was in the dirt already, but I found out from the reviews that the game apparently runs too slow or too fast (just like my case) for many people. Plus there is no documented fix (I tried setting my monitor to 60hz - didn't seem to work, at least at first). They really shouldn't be selling this game in the current state. This is why this review is negative. Thankfully, after fiddling around with my graphics card settings, I was able to get it to run at the right speed eventually and play through it. It's a pretty good game - great graphics, solid controls, cool bosses and everything else I was expecting from the dev (I am a fan of Cursed Castilla). The CRT shader/filter is really high quality and I really enjoyed playing with it on. I played through on the Rookie difficulty and then tried the Pilot difficulty too, but decided I didn't want to grind the final few levels. So you'll like the game if you like what you see in the trailer/screenshots, just beware of the game speed issue.
Been in a shmup mood lately and realized I never wrote a review for this gem. It's a solid shooter throughout, with a decent level of challenge--while still being fair enough for a novice to learn--and plenty of stuff to shoot, with a variety of weapons to choose from. And of course the music is excellent, as is tradition for the genre. Point of note, this was actually the first indie game I was ever introduced to, back when it was just a freeware title that my older brother brought home on a USB stick. I still remember the first time I actually completed that entire thing without dying, that was a damn milestone for me. This newer version of the game is still challenging (especially as there are more levels to play through) but I couldn't help but feel like it wasn't as difficult, even without using the easy difficulty mode (which gives you a shield with every life, something you had to earn in the freeware version). Maybe I'm just getting better at these games. :P Overall, definitely a worthwhile venture for enjoyers of shmup games.

Super Hydorah is not worth $20. However, if you can grab it during a Steam sale for $1.99, or pick up a key for around $1, it's worth your time. Super Hydorah is a tough-as-nails shoot 'em up with gorgeous retro pixel art. The controls are simple, but responsive, giving you everything you need without overcomplicating the game. Levels feature branching paths, and along the way you'll unlock new weapons and tools that can completely change your strategy from stage to stage. For the most part, the game feels challenging, but fair. That said, some stages (talking to you Galactic Inferno) are punishingly long. You only have a limited number of lives to clear each level, and if you run out before reaching the end, you're sent all the way back to the beginning. Most stages feature two bosses, but the longer levels can throw as many as four at you. You'll need to stay focused from start to finish, because it's easy to burn through your lives. As mentioned before, if you like arcade games or shoot em ups in general, and you can get Super Hydorah for a couple bucks, it's absolutely worth your time. Please do not spend $20 for this game.
Nicely designed retro style shoot-em-up.
Fun retro styled SHMUP
Absolutely beautiful levels
game is good!
Esse jogo está estranho! Está rodando lento, não roda em 60 fps (meu PC não é uma batata), e o jogo fica sem as músicas de fundo depois de um tempo
I played the original version of this to death. This has better graphics and more fine tuning.
