A fun haunted house adventure game. There's more happening here than the previous Camp Sunshine. The edgy humor and shock gore are gone, letting the game find its own horror and humor from its story. This one is a lot of fun. Using your limited psychic powers to fight monsters and save restless ghosts gives you a lot to do and explore. The demon-world levels bring the most fun, with different enemies and hazards unique to those levels. For the cheap price of admission, expect a few hours of entertainment.
Nice Halloween game

I originally abandoned this game in the 3rd dungeon after failing 20 times to get past a difficult gauntlet. Its particularly frustrating because there is no save point and each time you die you must play through the same dialogue scene again. However the game does have its charm so I eventually picked it back up and managed to complete it. There wasn't really many difficult parts after that. There is one boss that seems difficult at first until you realize the pattern. Bizarrely the end boss is relatively easy by comparison. The art style is nice, the script is good and it will certainly scratch that itch if your nostalgic for old school adventure games. Perhaps its a little short though; excluding my retries it probably took me around 3 hours to complete it. Although I may have missed some secrets and hidden areas. Regardless overall I enjoyed the game and look forward to more games in the series.
Pros: -Simple, but fun story. -Puzzles and traps are adequately challenging; for the most part. -The psychic powers add a nice dynamic to the gameplay; getting the player to decide whether to spend their energy on a dash or an attack. -The pixel-art and audio are also pleasing; including the voices, I thought the "retro-quality" effects (for a lack of a better term) were a very nice touch! Cons: -Although the pixel-art itself is good, there are instances where the layering is off and the player can be seen standing on top of objects that they clearly should be standing below. -One puzzle from the "2nd demon realm" didn't feel very intuitive; when I figured it out I didn't really get an "Aha!" feeling so much as an "Oh... That's what I had to do". -There are a couple moments where I wish I could skip a cutscene/dialogue sequence, or at least save right after; because there are a couple moments in the game where dying meant having to rerun through a good bit of dialogue, and unfortunately it's those moments where the difficulty spikes. :/ Overall thoughts on this game: I really enjoyed it, and would recommend this to people looking for a more unique take on pixelated horror games. As far as the cons are concerned, I was posting them more for the developer's notes; they didn't ruin the game for me, it's just stuff I'd like the devs to consider for their next game. ;)
This game has bugs on steam deck, the studio never really update and fix the issues. I changed the proton on the same and the save file was erased and make it worse it doesn't have cloud save. Then on top of that they never released the physical copies for this game on kick starter and that was years ago. Keep away from this company.
Unfortunately I can not recommend this. A year ago (possibly more at this point) I had an issue where a cutscene would freeze when 2 robed figures would stand in front of some open portal. I contacted support and received thanks for making them aware of this issue and assurance that it would be fixed on the next update. The next update dropped and the issue remained so I dropped the play-through. Fast forward to today and I still cant get past this point after a few larger updates. Replay is and should be expectedly poor. This is the type of game you'll play once and never pick it up again. Somehow steam didn't keep my save so I had to play 35% of the game all over again and there is a LOT of talking and explaining why you're doing various fetch quests and what an enemy's backstory is. Not interesting if you're already familiar with it. The gameplay between cutsceens/talking is too basic and short to feel 'worth while' playing again. I think this should be expected given the scope of the game and that's perfectly OK.
