About
It started with an email.
Inside the attachment waits an innocent little spot-the-difference game. Nothing special - just one of thousands of strange files that used to drift around the old internet. Except once you run it, something stays with you longer than it should.
Creepy Tales: Smile Dog is a desktop psychological horror inspired by the classic 2008 creepypasta. It’s a short, intense trip back to the age of old desktops, cluttered inboxes, and an internet that felt both naive and dangerous. And this time, there are five endings to uncover.
Receive emails
Check your messages, open attachments, and follow instructions that grow stranger with every step.
Find the differences
Compare images, watch for unsettling changes, and mark details that absolutely should not be there.
Return to the era of the old internet
Immerse yourself in a system inspired by the Windows XP days: play Minesweeper, browse folders full of photos, read BBS boards, and search for hidden traces buried in digital clutter from years ago.
Discover 5 endings
Smile Dog returns in a new form. We keep the spirit of the original creepypasta alive, while adding new layers of story, secrets, and unease - all waiting to be uncovered in five different ways.
The desktop is alive
Windows, files, errors, and system messages begin to behave as if your computer itself has become part of the horror.
A Quick Look at the Story
Smily Dog puts you in a simple “spot the difference” game between two images—but things quickly take a darker turn. As you play, strange details begin to surface, and emails start arriving to reveal the unsettling story behind it all. Inspired by the classic creepypasta, it blends a cozy horror atmosphere with the creeping dread of opening just one wrong email.
In-Depth Review
Smily Dog is a short but intriguing horror game that stands out for its atmosphere and pacing. What really worked for me was how it built tension little by little—not really relying on big jump scares, but instead creating a steady unease that kept me curious about what was coming next. It’s not the scariest horror game out there, but it sets the mood well and leaves you with that slightly unsettled feeling that lingers afterwards. The whole experience takes about 30 minutes to finish, which feels just right for what it’s going for. It’s compact, doesn’t overstay its welcome, and gives you a complete story in one sitting. That said, the short runtime also means that once you’re fully invested, it’s already over. One of the things I really enjoyed—but that isn’t actually central to the game—is the way it interacts with your PC. For example, it can pull in your Steam friends list, which is both surprising and fun to see. It doesn’t really add much to the story, and you can enjoy the game perfectly well without paying much attention to it, but it’s still a cool touch that makes the experience feel more personal and a bit uncanny. Overall, it is a neat little horror experiment. It’s short, it’s atmospheric, and while it won’t terrify you, it’s worth playing for the way it steadily builds mood and delivers something different from the usual indie horror formula. If you like compact horror games that don’t just rely on cheap scares, but also give you a backstory, this one is worth checking out. Good, if you're looking for something light. :) Not the creepiest game. Beginner scary level. I grew up reading creepypastas as a kid. (My favourites being Jeff the killer and The Russian sleep experiment) I actually discovered the game after seeing Jay form the Kubz Scouts post his own gameplay. Imo you can finish the game in about 45 minutes or less. And about an hour if you wanna get all the achievements. Ngl it took a bit to find the secret ending, but we got it.. :D Good if you're looking for something light. (might make a guide to help get the achievements :))

For a game that's three bucks, definitely got my money's worth. Free advice: Make sure jumpscares are off for a smoother experience. 10 out of 10.

DOGS ^0^ super cute game, kept getting weird emails and a pop up saying SMILE SMILE SMILE SMILE SMILE SMILE SMILE but super cozy loved playing it at 3:3333333333333333 am send to all your friends :D
Smile Dog is a "cozy" horror game about a creepypasta classic. You log in to your Windows XP looking PC and read through emails until a friend sends you a seemingly harmless "Spot the difference" game to play. I liked this game, it was the perfect length for what it was and has a good story. I was able to beat it and get all endings within an hour and a half. Pros: -The story is creepy -Looks cute -Can be beaten with all endings in one sitting Cons: -Text is hard to read, it's a little crunchy -Endings 1 and 2 are very abrupt

A short and cute way to bring a creepypasta to life, perhaps pricy since it can be completed within an hour, but still recommended,
