Born on a mountain, raised in a cave, Seatruckin' and mineral pluckin' is what I crave. Overall: good game, but get it on sale. Subnautica was a masterclass in creativity, worldbuilding, and atmosphere. Below Zero wasn't that, but it made a damn good attempt. I like that we see the story continue on Planet 4546b as well as the ecological worldbuilding connected to the crater. New lifeforms are well designed and well thought out. Additionally, the narrative around Marguerit is great and her presence makes the world a tad less lonely. Visuals are gorgeous and the fauna are great to look at. The Shadow Leviathan is such a rad creature! Things I didn't like, however... The mineral distribution felt really off, especially with regards to lead and lithium - the former feeling too limited and the latter feeling way too abundant. The driving narrative around the Alterra detachment out there was nice, but ultimately outside of Sam's storyline, nothing felt resolved as to why we're coming across all of these abandoned, disaster-stricken bases. Endgame also felt rushed and anticlimactic. Atmosphere-wise - it's far calmer than the original. The Chelicerate is a great design, but they were never around enough to feel intimidating like Reapers were. I felt like the Cryptosuckasses (I know the spelling, this is what I'm calling them) were more of a threat, and you could hear them coming from a mile away. Despite the praise I heaped on them before, the Shadow Leviathans also had their disappointments in the AI behavior, though I'm willing to let that slide as Sea Dragons weren't particularly better in that regard. Still, they were very predictable after a couple of encounters. Similarly with the ice worms: awesome design, but ridiculously easy to avoid just moving about regularly despite the supposed threat level.

Excellent next chapter to the Subnautica game. Really enjoyed the first and was not disappointed in the slightest with Below Zero. Just finished and already thinking about another play through.
