For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. This game presents some very fun ideas, but fails in its execution. Fun combat, unique system, fun retro stylization. It fails to make the user experience friendly. There are some translation issues. "Discard" is an action but the only other option for a card is to "recycle" it. Its the same function but it does not really define that for the user. Their are knives in inventory and item cards called knives. They don't really delineate that difference. Damage can feel out of nowhere. There isn't clear cause and effect between a final action and the total damage you will receive by end of turn. The icons that indicate creature ability are less than user friendly. The builds are fun, but as other users have noted, they are incredible one-dimensional. No variation in builds. Deal damage, and deal more damage. If this game streamlined the UX, fixed the localization, and balanced the strategies, I would easily recommend this game
For a roguelike game, it went for design philosophies which go against the spirit of roguelikes. Runs lack uniqueness between them, and characters when you unlock them have nothing unique to them, aside from stats. Do you want characters to have their signature traits unlocked ? You gotta make the game harder. How do you make the game harder ? You have to first unlock the equippable run modifier, by doing ACHIEVEMENTS (not completing runs like any other roguelike), unlocking them in the BESTIARY (which nothing in the game explains to you that it's where you unlock items and characters, because it's a misleading name for that menu), equipping them in your run modifier slots (which you unlock with your HIGH SCORE, not ACCUMULATED SCORE), sharing slots with things that modify your character and run in other ways, like by allowing you to even ACCESS your CHARACTER UNIQUE ITEMS... And ONLY THEN can your characters have ONE of their traits enabled. All that for your character choice to mean something. Other than that, it's items that you have to slot into your run modifier slots (which the game doesn't explain to you either, nor is the first one you start with slotted in the first place, or a default). Every single relic you get in game, are shared common relics (not to be confused with the rarity). Which, by the way, relics you get ? They take a limited amount of slots, instead of the standard of limitless relics with limits on weapons and the likes. But you still get a TON of relics. So, throughout the run, you have to get relics, get the currency to upgrade them, and once they're upgraded to the maximum level, get more of that in-game special currency (different from gold for shops) to turn them into passives, freeing up a slot. And while you go through that hassle, you obtain 2 more relics to upgrade and turn into passives, with even more currency to get. It's a tedious process, which has no place in a roguelike game. And then the game itself, where you need to attack enemies in a simple "Attack vs Defence" 1v1. You click on an enemy card to attack, you deal damage equals to your attack - their defence, and they deal damage back with the same calculation. But if you deal enough damage to kill them, they don't attack back. UNLESS they get the initiative modifier. HOWEVER there are cards dealing piercing damage, meaning that your defence means NOTHING. And those cards with piercing damage ? They start appearing towards the end of the first act, and by the end of the second act, half of the cards you fight deal piercing damage. At that point, why the hell would you level up your defence ? Only increase your attack, it's the only thing that matters. EXCEPT if you get enemies which take a limited amount of damage per attack, which can ALSO deal piercing damage. And after all of that ? You finish your run, not having completed it because it becomes absurd by the end, and you unlock nothing, because it's your 5th run and you ran out of easy-to-get achievements to unlock more content. This game is an afront to roguelike games. Go play Slay the Spire 2, or Megabonk, or Vampire Survivors, or even Across the Obelisk if you got friends willing to play that game with you. So many better options than this, that will make picking a character and playing runs mean something.

I recommend this game only if it has a really good discount. Otherwise, it's still an interesting experience, but a bit overpriced in my opinion. I think this game would benefit a lot from having a demo. Many players who love card Battler games would experience the core system mechanics and have enough to then commit to playing this one. This game became engaging once it "clicks". On my first run with the cat girl, I inspected the menu, the items, and, like you expect, I didn't understand anything. Quite normal, I think, I hopped in the adventure, and I mostly focused on understanding what was happening, what was important to focus on, what to avoid, what to level up, what was working, and what wasn't. I was learning how to survive and manage my resources. On my second run with my beloved overpowered Elf, she is not broken she has big potential, and I love her. I accidentally discovered a small exploit that helped me to understand some synergy and combination with the items. There are some surprisingly abusable strategies, some could be a means to the end. The game's difficulty can feel brutal, as some other review mentioned, Oh, I have the piercing damage, if you don't know how to make the right builds or combinations. These enemies are not jokes, but I was slaying cards like my elf was too powerful with that exploit, sustain, resist advance. I almost finished the game on my second run, but I miscalculated; I did the math wrong and got destroyed. I HAD A POTION, AAAAHHH. By the third run, the difficulty curve collapsed, and the game became easy, maybe too easy. I knew how to make the right build, I understood the potential. Oh my Elf, elves could be so scary, you know, my girl Frieren. I was overpowered even using a different build. I discovered another exploit or strategy. Unfortunately, this also reduced the replay tension. I finished the game, I was good, so I wanted to do the hard mode. Fourth run, even with the difficulty modifiers and the elite enemies, it felt repetitive, it felt more like a chore than a game. Finished it and even one hit some enemies. I loved the designs of the main characters. The enemies, however, could use a bit more personality and uniqueness; they have the style, just cook a bit more. Shark Gang and the Dragons were definitely a highlight for me! Loved them! Overall, this game has something to offer strong ideas, a very good and initially satisfying experiment. It requires balance tuning, replay variety, and polish, polish, polish. I think the soul of the game is somewhat solid. I think this is a good base for the developer and the team lunch a big update or be the base for an even better game. Making games is hard, even so, this is a game you can enjoy.
Took me around 11 hours to get all achievements, gotta say it was fun. I believe I got this game from a bundle from Fanatical for 2-3 euros? For that price I'd say it's worth, the game is a lot of fun, but there isn't much to it Buy it on sale, it's not worth 15 euros, but for 3-5 euros, hell yea
Nice game. I honestly didn't know I'd enjoy roguelites this much. I got this game from a key bundle, and I'm really happy I ended up trying it. One thing I really liked is that you can unlock new characters, abilities, and permanent boosts by earning currency through achievements. It gives you something to work towards even after a failed run. I've only really played one other roguelite before this, which was PokéRogue, and I enjoyed that as well. Looking back, I probably should've realized sooner that I like this genre, especially since I also enjoy the Simulated Universe and other roguelite-style modes in Honkai: Star Rail. Is it worth the price? I don't really think €14.79 is worth it. I'd say somewhere around €7.99 to €8.99 feels like a much fairer price. Would I play it again? Maybe in the future, but not in near future. Would I recommend this game? Yes, I would. I'd mainly recommend picking it up during a sale though. If you're already a big roguelite fan, you might think it's worth the full price. Best to decide yourself.
I spent 28 hours to 100% this game and here are what you should expect: TL:DR -characters can use other characters relics (items) -emblem (modifier) are unlocked by high score (max high score requires higher difficulty playthroughs) -while UI shows you how much damage you take from enemy you're clicking, it DOES NOT show damage you will take from "Skills" even if the skill is from the enemy you're clicking. These are the most common negative reviews I've seen on this game so let me give some clarifications. 1. Characters are just skins -While its true you can use any character relic with any other character, you still need to unlock the specific character to unlock their specific relic. Or just think about it thematically. Gambler gets a roulette for example. 2. Slots for emblems are locked by high score -Yes this is true, while some may find this negative I personally found it alright as you would have something to aim for. But note that this also means that other emblem slots wont be unlockable unless you play at higher difficulties since score multiplier is based on difficulty level. 3. You die without knowing why -There are definitely instances where you're not sure why you died but this is because of the players carelessness. I say this because most players look at their characters "life bar" as it shows how much damage you're going to receive for this round of combat. HOWEVER this forecast DOES NOT include extra damage from other sources such as "Pursuit" which is damage done by an enemy when their "pursuit timer" counts down to 0. There are also enemies with skills that take the attack value of killed characters so damage would suddenly ramp up if you're not paying attention. In my 28 hours I had to "save replay" thrice to figure out how I died and when I broke it down, it did prove to be due to my own carelessness if not the lack of in game UI. I personally think that devs made this intentional which I don't mind. (Yes I enjoy dark souls)
Sorry it is just boring
Its almost fun but certain aspects of the game make the tediousness/frustration not worth it.
